Re: What Shifter do you run?
Turbo Action is a very good shifter
Not much to wear out or break. Great with Power Glide. Great with air and electric shifter. Manual shift with 3 Speed Auto not all that good with certain shift pattern. Precision Performance the finest shifter made. Never miss a shift. Works great shifting manually or air / electric Takes a little getting used to. Cost of the base model only a little higher than Turbo Action. Have used Turbo Action with PG for many years with no problem. With 3 Speed had trouble shifting 1st to 3rd. Not fun loosing rounds like that. NO problems with Precision Performance Products shifter. |
Re: What Shifter do you run?
I posted previously about the PPP shifter.
I have had the Turbo Action, Hurst Quarter stick, and the PPP. All worked great but the PPP is some much easier to use. I have add all three in either electric, air or manual. Unless you have used a PPP it is really hard to understand why so many people like it. Had I known early on how great the shifters are, I would have purchased one from the start. Just my .02 |

I can't speak for non-mopar uses, or non-driver shifted uses...IE air shifted, electric shift......others can chime in. Eric |

[QUOTE=Signman;401913]Turbo Action is a very good shifter
Have used Turbo Action with PG for many years with no problem. With 3 Speed had trouble shifting 1st to 3rd. Not fun loosing rounds like that. I had the same issues many years ago, shifting 1st to 3rd on occasion. I found that TA made a reverse shift specific gate plate which cured the problem. |

Re: What Shifter do you run?
I've always used TA, Paul Forte pays contingency and stands behind his stuff. It's also nice to be able to just switch plates when going from 3 speed to PG and you can make it rear entry cable or front within 10 minutes. Understand Eric's point about easily getting to clean neutral but obviously not everyone is concerned about that anyway.

Re: What Shifter do you run?
Turbo Action,3sp,fwd, I found you can't have a death grip on theT handle,if so you can go by 2nd into high, just slap it between 1-2 and it'll spring into the 2nd detent, works everytime.

And I must say there is a little more skill involved in using your left hand to stab a button for the 1-2 shift just as you pass the 60 ft. clock - instead of having the E-Shift doing your work for you. |
