Yes it was Doug but there is no fun reading about who can do a set of heads....

Ed was allowed back on here by Ken so I have to assume he does not mind when a war of words takes place over something like who had the quickest 3880lb Chevelle with no rim screws, no fire hose fuel system, no big tires and may or may not have had a 1.2xx 60 foot time.....LOL

I'm fighting off a cold so this is entertainment...

Carry on Ed and the other HP hunter dude....and the most important thing I forgot was how to even do cylinder heads, period.....Nobody in their right mind would want to......Port 40+ year old cast iron heads for chicken feed......and invest a fortune in machines and a shop that you will likely never make a decent living in....without making a superhuman effort....

1.288 to be exact Rich and it was done at Piedmont Dragway the morning of 11/24/07 in the 2nd time shot at 11:48AM with Brett Schlichtig in the other lane

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/o...psa0bbf281.jpg

after going 1.38 60 foot deep staged in the first time shot, I decided to go shallow to shut up the internet naysayers who for years refused to believe this ride that had regularly 60 footed 1.38-1.39 deep staged would 60 foot 1.29 shallow staged.

Anyway, that was a long time ago and pales in comparison to 1.17 60 foot my Firebird has run.;)

Doug, I was the first to reply to mannymen's question. Further and FYI, he has PM me over the years for info and advice.

It does take a lot of effort Rich, and you do make a good point!
I don't think theres anything wrong with putting in the effort to get the desired results, I wished the people I deal with would put the same effort in as I do.

"Still fronting another shops photos and dyno room as your own."
Who Ed owns my shop? Your not sticking to the facts.

Just so you know Ed, Manny knew exactly where to call to get oval port heads done, ME, I then explained he should start a thread on classracer to find someone in his area that would do the job, Right Manny........

Heres some more pictures of my machine shop Ed.

Ed can you post the 1.28 time slip so we can put this to bed???

walk into YOUR shop right now and take a "selfie", sitting at the dyno controls while holding today's newspaper with the date on the paper as clear as the nose on your face!
