Re: Question about FS classes

Jeff, I like the idea; it sounds like Top Stock in a way (same weight break even). One small suggestion would be, make it 8.5 pounds (B weight) to allow some C cars to compete as well. I would be willing to bet that A, B and C are the three most popular classes, car-count wise. 8.5 pounds opens it up, more easily, to allow more cars to compete, so the C cars wouldn't have to remove 300 pounds to run, should they so desire. Also, 1972-older cars, since 1972 was about the last year of the really high-HP cars. Just a thought(s).

not me..ny car has alm heads at 400 hp so i dont feel like racing at near 3600 pounds.however, if that is what the majority wants then by all means..go for it.

In the past in top stock, you could remove a battery and a seat right? I'm trying to figure out how light I could get my car if this ever happened. I couldn't get to 8.25 or 8.5, but I may be able to get close enough to have some fun at 8.5. I may need to put the driver on a diet.

No removing anything. If we get complicated, NHRA will shoot it down. Has to be easy to administer otherwise we never get in the door. NHRA Stock rules, factors, and Mike Carr I like the between a & b. C has about 20% less cars, but no restrictions to class. Factored hp X 8.25. Some of the c cars can get there. Keep it simple, got to be one voice, one set of proposed regulations etc. Personal agenda items have killed more than one thing with NHRA. I got no dog here. I just think it would be fun and also see who has the biggest. And this is not for everybody. All out heads up is not for everyone.

Dave Ley perfected Top Stock about 8 years ago. 8.25 and go. If this is to succeed, someone like Dave has to take the reigns and run with it. It can't be a racer as we all have too many personal agendas.
