Grump's car was from what I understand (Derrick Von Bargen and Dick Whitman were part of Grump's "Super Crew" before starting SRD Race Cars).

If I'm incorrect, provide info supporting your assertion.

Whitman and Von Bargan did work for Grump. Pete Hutchinson worked on the crew briefly. The three were going to start a chassis parts business. But Grumps win at the Winternationals created a demand for Vegas. I have had some conversations with Pete that have put some light on the evolution of the early cars they built.

Heavy's Challenger was the Billy the Kid Stepp car. Heavy bought it directly from Stepp.

He picked it up at Bluegrass Dragway in Lexington, Ky. Stepp already had Carman Rotundra's name and number (146) on the door. They had a match race against Jenkins that day. I have a pic but can't get it to post
