Not all tracks carry the same fuel

Dan, if you decide to try to run that car as an NHRA Stocker, be sure to not mix fuels. That is likely to not pass Fuel Check. I have had problems with the Sunoco I tried to use it for a while. Here in Div 4 (maybe other divisions as well?) they had stopped allowing VP fuel to be sold at the track. I have been able to buy it here locally. I figured it would be safer to buy Sunoco at the track, than to haul 15 gals of fuel while towing.

Lost qualifying rounds, due to failing fuel check. The sample the techs had were gotten at the track! Same place I bought mine! Maybe Sunoco has their act together better now, so their fuel always checks the same. I now avoid it like the plague.
A tech guy I know told me they found not even every drum checked the same. Different dates did not always check the same. He said they loosened their checking tolerances a little. Guess if your a sponsor......

I was probably not supposed to have told this. It is true.

Wow...I like the Sunoco 260GTX..not everyone carries it.
Does that mean I need to carry my own fuel?
Then stock up at home?
This is crazy...
It is one of the main reasons not moving up to Stock.
Fortunately the Association races are more relaxed.

How do you drain the fuel safely!

My SS car has a square aluminum fuel cel, with a threaded bung welded in the bottom. I have a hole in the floor under it. I just unscrew that plug to drain it.
If SUNOCO has fixed their stuff, passing fuel check with it should be no problem.
My issues with it was the first year. I have no further experience with it. Just have not used it since. If your having no problems with it, that is great.

So you use VP exclusively.
Any benefit with one over the other?
or
Do you use another manufacture blend?

Sorry. I clicked again, when it appeared nothing was happening. This was a duplicate of above. I'm a dummy. Bet nobody ever noticed that.
If I knew how, I would delete it.
