Re: Question about Challenger 1320

I found a weight of 4158 pounds--not sure if that is curb or shipping

Re: Question about Challenger 1320

As a point of reference, the 2013 Challenger RT is listed as a traditional Stocker with a shipping weight of 3,600 lbs. as per the guide and the 392 cu.in. engine is factored @ 380 h.p.
This combo does appear to have the 85 % rule applied for the shippiing weight ( 4,235 lbs. x .85 = 3600 )

The 15-17 Hellcats are listed at 4,500 lbs and factored at 600 h.p....also a traditional Stocker.
NHRA applied the 85 % rule on the Hellcat h.p. ( 707 x .85 = 600 hp)

However, they did not apply the 85 % rule to the Hellcat's shipping weight.
If they had, the new shipping weight would have been 3,825 lbs. and the HC would be a 6.375 lb./hp combo

Re: Question about Challenger 1320

Delivered our first one today. It's basically a Hellcat with the 392. It has to be ordered with the left seat and the rear @ 1$ each. Shipping is 3400 or 200 less than the other challengers. The HP is 390 and the original was 380 which after Helms worked on it, is now 402. Big ole wide radials, and some other available stuff. If you do the math, it is right at the bottom of C/S or C/SA. Nice car. I might look good driving that thing.

Re: Question about Challenger 1320

Jeff, that would be the passenger seat or the right hand seat as I look at it that has to be ordered for the $1.00 price, the rear seat also for $1.00. The "1320"s are being delivered now. To find one on the Dodge web site, they will listed as a Scat Pak Challenger with the "1320" option.

Two things to make it better, the shift fart and rev limiter. From what I understand, it retards timing at the up shift causing the "fart sound" and holding in whatever gear it will just lay over I think at 5700 rpm. A chip will address those items but warenty is out the door if it breaks. Pistons-rods suck so limited might be a good thing. Again a blast to drive, better than the 60s cars by a lot.

Re: Question about Challenger 1320

Do they come off the lot with a 9" Ford rear end in them these days? I hear that's common for cars in traditional stock and Factory Stock...

Heck, rumor is they even come with GM Turbo 400 transmissions too! Before you know it these DODGE cars will just be a body with competitive drive-trains...
