That's some interesting stuff. There's no doubt that the force used to lift a couple thousand pounds of car could be used better in moving the car forward. But maybe it serves to plant the slicks better and there would be a loss because of slight tire spin. Looking at both Brian's and Mandella's records I would never question what they say. My experience is mainly in Comp and Pro Stock, where it always is quicker to keep the front close to the ground. Maybe it's the difference in the suspension and/or chassis stiffness each eliminator allows. I'll shut up now, since I may be embarrassing myself with a lack of knowledge about Stock and Super Stock. :D |

Any other Videos of Heads up Finals?

Re: AA/sa heads up final
Drove a friends S/S Camaro and if it hit the wheelie bars it was faster. The thought was it spun the tires to get RPM's in a happier place sooner. Lots of gear changes in trans and rear end. Same result.

Re: AA/sa heads up final
The Hemi’s have gone to tied down fronts & going faster
In my opinion they have lost some of the appeal of watching them I like a wheels up launch, part of the fun |
