NHRA Announces Revision to the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Schedule

NHRA officials announced the 2021 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event contested at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park scheduled for May 14th – 16th has been moved to October and will expand to a double event. The event will be contested on October 14th – 17th. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car will be contested on October 15th and 16th as part of the Western Region. The first of two divisional events will be contested on October 14th – 15th and the second event will be contested on October 16th – 17th.

Many races starting late next season may be due to the imposed Covid restrictions still in place by states and hoping they are gone or relaxed after the 1st Quarter of 2021.

Also I see the Tucson schedule is up on their website, it shows a National Open on Thursday and Friday before the divisional.

I'm surprised nobody posted this already but, there will be a Zoom meeting tonight with the Waterford Twp board to discuss the future of Atco Dragway. If anyone is interested in seeing what the future holds for the track, tonight at 7pm is the meeting. You can head over to Facebook - Save the NJ Dragstrip for further info. If you're in D1 or don't want to see anther dragstrip fall by the wayside, I'd tune in. I can say the gentlemen who runs the FB site has done some extensive research on this topic and has some great points.

I have a feeling if this does go through, you might see the D1 race and open be ok but, as it get later in the summer, events like Dave's Stock /SS series and the .90 series could be looking for new homes.

The atco/waterford township zoom meeting on 1/20/2021 was reschuduled for 2/17/2021 do to the town council set up the zoom meeting for only 100 poeple . They seamed very up set and suprised that it filled up at 7PM sharp . They had to tell everyone to leave the meeting so they could open the zoom meeting to 500 people . They seamed like they didn't like all the eyes on there little rubber stamp meeting . One of the council man said they might need to make the next meeting for 1000 people and another one of them said don't tell them what the max number will be [ as the SOB adjusted his dirty do rag ] . They also stated they are all volunteers and are not getting payed and didn't like having there meeting time wasted , or dose it "seam" like they don't get the bribe money if this don't pass . The lawyer for the town council at the start of the meeting took a 10min break to talk off line with the lawyer from the auto auction buyer & came back on & stated they needed to reschudule the meeting because its not legal if everyone don't have there statements addressed . I think they were suprised as well at the amount of push back to there dirty deeds/ business proposal . I also filed a statement with the pineland commission as public comments as to disapproval to the change of use application . Do not give up and do nothing

I'm thinking you had a bad experience from that a couple of years ago
