The reports of Billy's death are greatly exaggerated.

Dear Mr. Bubski,
We don't know each other but it seems to me that you're out of your league debating these guys.
Listen and learn.
Respectfully,

"dead to me " ???? Some of you guys are taking this stuff way too serious. I personably enjoy what is written here whether or not I agree with it. Lets all chill out for a bit and try to get along in these difficult times

I believe the car featured is Kevin Leinart's.

I wouldn't build on this guy's comments. I know him pretty well and he's never built a stocker. He was building a 1969 Barracuda with a 340 back in the early 1990s, but Woodrow Josey's LT1 Firebird scared him off. He should have built it anyway since that car started in H/SA and ended up in D/SA. By the time it was competitive, Woodrow would have been in D/SA.

Are you talking about me (340Cuda - Bill Lamb) or House of Darts?

No, I was poking fun at myself. I'm a stocker guy wannabee. I posted that info on FaceBooger. I guess no one has run the 1969 273 combo as it's at the factory rating. NHRA should rate it the same or near the 1967 rating. Chrysler went to a hydraulic cam in 1968-9, I think the specs are close to the earlier mechanical cams.

The 273-4bbl combo has different pistons (10.5:1 or so) than the 2bbl version. I was looking at building a 273 Dart for stock. It became apparent that my engine guy is a Full-Tilt Boogie Motor kind of guy and I couldn't see pouring that much money into a 273. I bought two of the LD4B intakes to have them taken away. They should have not approved them in the first place, certainly they should have taken them away before I bought them.

I wasn't ragging on Woodro either. Just frustration that it took a long time for the LT1 to get factored to a more realistic HP rating. It started at 275HP, the same as the 340 factory rating. I think it ended up around 350 HP. Sort of like when the Factory Showoff cars came out, the EFI cars were under rated at first.

Wow! A Mopar guy with a sense of humor! You need a Neon.

OOPS! Never mind, another Mopar guy that I'm "dead to"!
If this keeps up, there's liable to be a thread on here soon,"I Buried Billy"!

Well that went right over my head. I have a 69 Barracuda 340 but it has always been a Super Stock car.

Some folks don't seem to realize that it is possible to read something on the internet that you disagree with and simply go on with your life!

I agree with Billy on his desire to restore the "Stock" back in Stock. Unfortunately the cats are out of the bag and there are too many cats to try to shove back in the bag. Some of those old 1960s parts are wore out and expensive to find if there is a good part that can be used.

I'll have to dig out the old Beatles album to see if it does say "I Buried Billy" or "I'm Pretty Silly".
