Re: New S/SS NHRA Horsepower Adjustments
Do ya think the LT-1 hp had anything to do with Richmond qualifying order? I am still trying to figure out this Auto Factoring stuff.

Re: New S/SS NHRA Horsepower Adjustments
Eric i think the reason your combo was hit was because there are not alot of cars running this combo. You being carefull was the right thing.Like you said ther are so many B thru H cars running it keeps the average down in these classes . Also it dosn't help your a REDSOX FAN,,The only thing saving DONNIE is he has the right car and combo ..I believe Brain Cashman made acall on behalf of you and BILLY.to slow down you DAM REDSOX!!

Re: New S/SS NHRA Horsepower Adjustments
At the very least, the 83 and 84 cars should not be rated the same as the 85.
The 85 had a roller cam where as the previous two years did not. If NHRA would allow this combo to run as an automatic, I would run my car in L/SA. I tried to run it with the factory CFI for a few years with no success. That is why I decided to put a crate motor in it. |

Eric I would like to talk to you about your combo? I have a 85 mustang that i drive on the street with a 331 and I am thinking of turning it into a stocker, I have original heads, intake and carb. Is there a number that I can reach you? Stephen Johnson #2162 Horace Johnson #2167 SS/D 427 Ford Fairlane NHRA-IHRA National Record Holder |
Re: New S/SS NHRA Horsepower Adjustments
You had better keep the 331 bottom end to run that class now!
is it a coupe or hatchback? |

Re: New S/SS NHRA Horsepower Adjustments
Chris, I agree, the ****ty D8 heads and flat cam, less lift if I remember correctly too. There is no way 83-84's should be lumped in with the 85's.
I found the intake for my 83, think when I find the carb I might change the nose on it and go 82 with a 2bbl @ 170hp. |
