I've got the forward (push) shift PPP for a C4 and the reverse (pull) for a Protrans 727/904. The forward shift doesn't have a positive stop for 2nd gear despite having a lip on the detent pattern. You may be able to adjust the spring in the handle or find some other way to make it a positive stop, but mine's an air shifter so I never really cared.

I found that if you just hit the lever with your palm or finger--like a slap stick shifter--it'll go right into 2nd gear and not skip to 3rd.

Had this exact problem with one I worked on. PPP showed less than z-e-r-o interest...never returned multiple calls, emails, etc.
