Re: Class Eliminations
I would like to see every other race with class. Bring IHRA back to the glory days where 100 cars showed up and you won't have issues with class runoffs. IHRA Top Stock and maybe Junior Stock would be awesome.

Re: Class Eliminations
I think it depends on the schedule, lots of great posts/suggestions as they relate to the Nhra schedule. For Ihra, it depends more on track, location, and race quantity.
If IHRA offers class, we are going. We are class racers and NHRA has really diminished that part of S/SS. Also, Alan, make license cross over easy and membership easy so guys can just show up. That easy process got us to our first Ihra races 20yrs ago. |
Re: Class Eliminations
2- times in each division. All nitro jams. Q1 for the ladder then class runoffs. All runs count towards AHFS as the current NHRA system.
The only change needed is allow requests for hp reduction. If less then 2 triggers. -1.0 runs If average of all runs is less then -0.065. Minimum of 20 total runs Do a HP reduction. Sure there will be triggers and HP will be awarded. But with a consistent system combos can also be corrected if over adjusted. Allows everyone to race and make their decisions at the stripe. Use your existing HP ratings and run autos and sticks together for heads up. If the HP ratings are different from stock to auto spit the difference and make them the same. Simple and straightforward. |
Re: Class Eliminations
It seems this post has been modified to include AHFS and HP Ratings.
If IHRA wants to keep their life simple, which we want them to do, we don't want to become more aggravation than we're worth, then the AHFS should look like this this: over 1.25 under-3.5% Hit. Under -.50 under, of which records must be kept by individual racer and sent in at year end for verification-3.5 % reduction. No averages to keep track of, just easy peasy. No Aspirin required on either side. J.R. |
Re: Class Eliminations
IHRA in the south works, up here in the great white north, no tracks as of right now here it does not work. I have hopes that in the future that will change, so we will see.

Main point is welcome IHRA yes we want Class eliminations and let?s simplify it so we can get more heads up runs. |
Re: Class Eliminations
Back in the day, did not IHRA follow NHRA s lead regarding HP factors ?…...not sure we can use AHFS and IHRA in the same sentence. This would be the perfect time for Michael Beard to chime in ….

Re: Class Eliminations
I like the idea for a Top Stock and Junior Stock to start with. and I agree on License,Membership and car number. Make it easy to switch back and forth.
