I don't know how you could have more fun than singing the SPAM song at the top of our lungs on the way to VMP at o'dark thirty.

I guess you need to go on more than one road trip with Billy before one is introduced to lyrics about luncheon meat.....we did sing about lumberjacks though. He must have felt the Mountie choir would make me feel at home??

Get well Mr Harrington.

I just came from the hospital.. The Shoe is some fighter!!!

Spirits are high - but still in intensive care..

One request from the Hospital... Please do not call there. They are getting hundreds of calls, and can not forward a call to his room.. and they can not give a patient's status to anyone over the phone..

The hospital realizes they have a 'celebrity' in their presence.. based on the amount of visitors and phone calls..! ! !

As I was leaving he told me - "Don't worry, I'll be fine", as he winked at me..

Get well JIM...

Sal

Tracey & Happy,

Our prayers and thoughts are with you all during these trying times. I keep remembering Happy singing "Sweet Caroline" at VMP last year. Those days will return.

Many people know me. So many call me and check the boards for updates. I am just one of the many that really love JIMMY THE SHOE! He taught me as well as thousands of others. He has helped thousands become better racers and better people in general.

He is fighting for this one pretty hard. All the "celebs" that came to visit him with all their "hardware" wishing this gentle giant of a racer anything they can do to help him. All we can do is keep hoping somehow he can get his kidney's restarted with his liver so he can come home to the track.

Sal Biondo is a super class guy! He came yesterday and made me remind the hospital administrator that they have a true Celeb here and all the Nurses on the floor and the doctors I spoke with, know he is a very loved man by LOTS AND LOTS of people. Sal, your such a great person for the way you are!!!!

Re: Jim Harrington

Sal is a great guy, no doubt. I am glad to be able to say that I know both Sal and Shoe on a personal level and they are both terrific people as are everyone who made the trip to see him. If anything can get Shoe better, it's the miracle of modern medicine.

How about last year at "Howl at the Moon" in Orlando, Shoe closed the night singing that song on stage with the piano players singin "SHOE SHOE SHOE" in the breaks.

They played "Sweet Caroline" this year. At least two or three times.

I left the hospital a little while ago. It seems that this weekend a HUNDRED PLUS came to see THE SHOE and damn if it did not make him a happy man!

As far as his current condition. I am very sorry to say he is failing now a lot more minute by minute. I guess THE SHOE wanted to let his friends come to say good bye my dear friend. I am so upset over this words cannot describe. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is a true friend to ALL in racing!

Is there any way you can call my cell when you have a minute? My number is 732/910-2145. I want to go see him right away but have some questions I would like to ask first.

Thank you,
