What a super morning - everyone here is glad they came .S/Street got their hit without incident and then Stock went out - most were three to five better than yesterday - mostly weather related increases ,The talk of the pits is Tom Kreeber with his early Mopar going 10.12 in B/SA - well done . SuperStock coming up................

BTW , for all the naysayers - the track had big teeth this morning .

S/Stock got their pass in - most were like the stockers - 3 to 5 faster and
were happy with the great track .Many had fearsbut went away after seeing giant wheelie after giant wheelie . S/Gas out on the track now .

Stock round one will happen in a few hours with some interesting match-ups --

What a great day - for most of you anyway , at this moment that you whistle you're hearing is for real - well almost , its me on the New Jersey Transit train to Atlantic City - maybe my luck will change there as for the second race in a row not only am I a first round runner-up but my Trans Am is broken and if one of you out there needs an entry to Reading i've got to give mine up as its not going to be fixed in time for sure.

Tomorrow i'll be back at Atco with full coverage for you .........tonight its just hard to keep my chin up .

Wow that looks nasty under there Jack.....

I am sorry to see it. Looks like the block is broken on that engine and a lot of other damage. Headers, starter, flexplate,trans. I read once about an LS-1 that broke the block where the starter mounts and thats what I see in your picture.

I don't know what actually happened but I am real sorry to see you lose two engines in 2 races......

Folks, you know the saying, if Jack did not have bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all. Lets hope its not as bad as it looks. If Jack can't make the Maple Grove trip, don't worry I will fill in. I can't give you the live reporting like Jack, he has a style all his own, but I will do my best.

The first shot is a picture of the Brew Crew. As you can see these guys a great when you need a hand. They gather up all the chairs, make sure they have a good view, and then talk you through any troubles you may have. Are they not the best or what?

The slow cars did great today! Billy Nees won his matchup by .003, Chapman won, Zippy got around Ed by .001, and I had a .004 pkg in the Turismo! Unreal. Used up the luck bank all in one shot, but looking forward to tomorrow.

Lots of red lights and reeeeally late lights in Super Stock. Best run of the round was the PC Richard team cars. Someone actually asked "will they race for it?". YES! They're both .007, Fetch takes .006 and breaks out .003, with the boss dead-on behind him. The best part? Seeing Fetch rolling up the return road with a big grin on his face, even though he lost.

S/G car wrecked in the first pair, and they pulled the plug. Incident was well past the finish line. Check DRC for any details... I hadn't heard any concrete details. We're back to the top of the order with S/ST in the morning - said they'd work S/G in later. Gonna be a long day tomorrow.

I'm surprised at how busy I've been all weekend, despite only making three laps so far. I've no idea what I've done, but been fun catching up with old friends and reminiscing with people I don't know. ;-)

Good morning - Well its Sunday and most racers still in are chomping at the bit to get going -- and fast because there is bad weather coming in today - later on this afternoon it will rain again - officials surely will hustle racers thru rounds this morning as they are already behind because of the early shutdown last evening - lets all hope for a timely and safe finish today .

Took a few pics this morning - the sky and sea were angry for sure - bad stuff on the way ! ! !

1st pair of SST this morning, car in the right lane got loose past the 330' and went right, hitting the wall. After cleanup, 2nd pair out, car in the left lane got loose around 800' and had to lift.

We're on delay "to let the sun put some heat in the track". And now they're running the jet.

Here we go again ,right on top of IHRA finals and TOC. Makes no since to me. Some of these racers are in the TOC and in at Atco too....Bad for the racers who now have to make a choice. This shows how much some people care about their racers. Not thought out very good (or was it ?)

Next week is the National at MG, and two weeks after that is the Dutch. That was the only weekend available, unless you want people to come back the first weekend in Nov, which of course would be a problem for any racer still in the Nat'l points chase and needing the last points race at vegas in Nov, to say nothing of how cold and dangerous the track would be in November.

When would you do it?

Next weekend ( Oct. 9 & 10) is the Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove.

The following weekend (Oct. 16 & 17) is an open weekend for NHRA in the Northeast Division.

The weekend after that (October 23 & 24) is the Dutch Classic at Maple Grove.

The weather forecasts called from rain beginning this evening through Tuesday, so staying over wasn't an option.

There really isn't any other time.

Was parked next to Norm at Atco great guy to talk to we had a good time. Also talking and eat with Wally Clark a lot of joking around.

Really, Jim, to be fair, we don't see too many Division 1 cars at Reynolds anyway, outside of a few guys chasing points. Atco and Reynolds are far enough apart that it isn't a big deal. It'd actually be nice if Reynolds was a week later in October than it is now.

As nerve racking as their scheduling is, I really can't fault NHRA and especially Division 1 for choosing that weekend to finish Atco.

Hopefully, with a little luck, our new Division 2 director will take the rest of the people into consideration when he does the Lucas schedule for next year, unlike the previous director, who appeared to schedule strictly according to his own needs and wants.

Wasn't much for options; Toyos, Atco makeup then the Dutch will make a busy month of October for the D1 staff and those running in all three events. Hopefully it won't hurt the car count at the Dutch.

I understand , and you have nothing to be sorry for. I just hate it for the guys that do try to run with us at IHRA and are in the Championship race .
I hope it works out for everybody effected by this . Nothing you can do about mother nature. I am sorry for making it sound like you was picking on me (did not mean it that way). I agree about all the races back to back, maybe it will take care of itself. No hard feelings intended :) :)....

I agree Tim. Hey look I am not real fond on racing in the heat of the some but I am fond of racing and what happened this weekend was a complete and total waste of time and money for everyone involved. And now the rescheduled event will be in a time of year that will only make it tougher. I only hope we dont have the same problem next week.
