how bout when bobby d ran the first 9 second run in stock. were people complaining about him being underrated then? i dont think so. why dont people do some research about what class ur local dp or cj car will run and add or subtract some weight to not be in that persons class.

To answer your first part, in time, this may affect a lot more people than it already does in the not-too-distant future. Currently, the new cars are mostly in AA, A, B and C Stock only (with one car, Jeff Tueton, that can run F-G-H). So, as of now, only cars in those classes are affected. A few weeks ago, a post was made that Ford introduced a new, smaller (302?) motor that will run in the lower classes (J and K, I believe). And if more, new cars are built, it could soon infiltrate many classes of Stock Eliminator. Just because few racers so far have been beaten in a heads-up run, doesn't mean the victim list won't grow substantially in the near future.

As for your second comment, when Bobby D ran the first 9 second run (9.99 at Mission in May 2001), there were several other cars that weekend (Robert Pond, Joe Alluise and Don Little), all in 'A' classed cars, who were in the 10.0's. It wasn't as though Bobby had them all covered by a ton. Had Bobby run his 9.99, and everyone else been in the 10.40's and slower, then yes, I imagine there would have been complaining then, as well, just like we have now.

seems like some people are just jealous and havent had anything to complain about in a few years..

I like one of Chad's posts recently when a new no-name single digit post bandit railed on like he knows class racing..." is it a snow day there?"

Having a name and class/# appear on your posts (you can edit your profile in 30 seconds to accomplish) may not win people to your position but at least others know who they are "listening" to. Bandit posters don't get much consideration.

Touche Mr. Matyas. I will consider that for the future. But they dont have to take me seriously because half the time i dont take the people who just use this site to bash nhra and fellow racers seriously anyway.

but why is that though? whats to say i give u my name and u have no idea who i am anyway? just because you know my name and car number doesnt mean you'll understand my thoughts.

Point taken - however there are many here who don't spend all their time bashing the NHRA ( or any other organization ) and other racers .

As for your name -- myself and a great many others here will know you because of that Wally . And if some won't understand - don't let that stop you as most will - they have walked in your shoes ..................And I hope I'm not among those you do not take seriously .

I am sorry I don't mean to change this very important topic
But could someone tell me why anyone would sell a wally they won or a family member won?
As hard as they are to win I cant imagine parting with one.....

Don't worry jack I respect what u have to say it is thought out and has value and believe me no one is stopping me from doing anything. I also respect everyone on here who is trying to bring value to our sport and provide constructive positive criticism.

And Tony, I had no idea we were in English class maybe YOU should check everyones grammar for them

hey I've owned plenty of F-body's from TPI to LS1, and no mullet here either. My kind of trailer park is the pit area if you get my drift. Just picking on Ed. Besides, with him being in the middle of Tornado Alley, I'm sure there aren't many trailer parks out there.

Those things do have tornado magnets in them. But the trailer parks don't seem to get any fewer. If they did, what would Jerry Springer do? LOL

If you grow up in a trailer park is that bad?

Are you guys going to use other slurs?

You should not denigrate someone you don't know

Uh Oh - perhaps I should include the definition

1: to attack the reputation of : defame <denigrate one's opponents>
2: to deny the importance or validity of : belittle <denigrate their achievements>

You can not stay on topic and can not deal with an opposing view point

You only seem to be able to provide negative feedback

You are truly a really descent and prodcutiive member of our fraternity

I am proud to have you be part of our circle

Yes - without question - when it becomes like you guys use it

It is not acceptable - it is hurtful and unnecessary

You would not let your kids do it so why should you

What makes you think it is humor?

Ron, chill out. go drink a beer or something. I was giving Ed a hard time ( he's a good friend of mine) because he tunes GM EFI vehicles and the F-body cars have had a stereotype of being "mullet mobiles" or "trailer park cars". He mentioned the "text spelling" that has bled over from text messaging to emails, and I was making a joke about his customer base having newer cars and computer, but not having shed their old stereotype.

I can't believe i wasted a paragraph explaining a joke to you, sorry you are so easily offended.

I thought it was funny that you responded the way you did.

Thanks for the explination though.

Maybe I should be more careful - get it

I'll be the first to say the rules aren't exactly what you would call "Fair" for Stock and Super Stock when it comes to the new style cars.....but come on guys, it's still a bracket race the last time I checked. Sure there might be an occasional heads up encounter...but if you have an A,B,or C car why not just put some weight in it and move down a few classes? Other than the few national events that have class run offs, and qualifying for the US Nationals, it really doesn't matter?!?!?!

I just love it when tempers flair and then folks recall they are more alike and love the same things (like our class racing!)...all of a sudden Kumbaya breaks out...

Far as I'm concerned all you guys are good racers..except LoneWolf because I don't know who in the heck he is! Sorry, just had to get that in there...

Re: How are the new cars remaining in Stock classes going to affect your racing this

Jason, you can only move up or down one class from your natural class, and then only if you can do it with the legal amount of ballast.

There are enough combinations for the new cars for them to be in every class between AA and D, and then some.

We'd have to build another engine and change combinations in order to move very far.

Oh - and they probably do not count here because it was a PRO class - worst of all it was AHRA

Now that is probably before most of you were born
