I am in Texas right now, but when I get back in the spring I will talk to some of the old Scribner guys and see what they remember,There is still a lot of them around.
If you get down around Glenwood ,south of town is Kevin Taylors shop, he used to have boxes of pics stuck away, he also remembers almost everyone,he worked for Mike Daly part of the time .

Answer: I was driving a 1969 SS427 - SS/E Chevelle. It was owned by Denny Fitch and I drove. Black and white.

Gary, The car was called the H&F Express (Hansen & Fitch) and I once almost backed it off the trailer when it was in the driveway when I was in there screwing around as a little kid....Who am I???

My dad had a Black and White Chevelle called the H&F Express that he ran at Cornhusker. Last he knew the Chevelle was purchased by someone in Blair, Ne. Anyone know what became of it. My father (Denny) still has a whole bunch of the circular window stickers from Cornhusker Speedway. We put them in the back of our 68 Chevelle that we still own.

Gary Hansen if you read this my Dad would love to get in touch with you. message me with your email address.

Yea, I know who you are.....you are the ornery little sh-- that called your dad Dennis...LOL

I talked with your dad, glad he is doing OK.... And, that 1969 SS427 Chevelle was fast and we won a few with it.

In my paperwork collection I have a few original programs from Cornhusker from 1969 1970 and 1973. I believe I also have a few time slips.

I started my research in 2002. ( see the links below to a few forums including my recent You Tube page)

For those of us that were there, it is unbelievable that SS/E (and EA) are 2 seconds faster now.....than Jacobs was then....

The original engine to #22 is in the engine restoration room at Speedy Bill's museum, we saw it and shot pics of the VIN on the block. It is polished and it was raced by Larry Eberhard in a 66 Vette who blew it up and sold it to Speedy who had it repaired. Bill won't sell it. The Camaro RD's Shaker was named after Nick Whitaker who they called Rubber Di*k, hence RD. They also called him Slick Nick, Easy Fix, Dick Gozinya. I can't figure it out but its true.

I was friends with Nick Whitaker back them. I'm pretty sure it was a guy named J. Bridgewater that actually bought the Mac Chevy originally in about 1971? (I know some details of the purchase) I'm pretty sure he bought the car when he came back from Vietnam. I went to high school with Bridgewater.

It looks like "Bridgewater" and "Whitaker" on the side of the car , as shown in the previous picture of the"RD Shaker" Mac Camero. I don't know how or why they might have became partners in the Camero. I used to run around and party with them in the 60's and about when Raceway Park was opened....then it later closed after the drivers strike

Bridgewater was partners with another guy, in a 55 Chevy before the Camero., and I think (not sure) it was before he went to the Vietnam, and raced for a short time at Omaha Dragway.

I know Whitaker had an L-88 big block in a 1964 or 65 Chevelle a few years prior to the Camero. I drove the Chevelle a few times at the old Omaha Dragway.

I had raced an NHRA stock class 56 Chevy at Omaha Dragway about the same time, but got married, had kids, and got out of racing to work, and go to college...and the rest is history as they say.

I remember when Whitaker had bought a new 1967 Chevy II with a 327 - 350 HP, 4 speed....silver with black interior. Very cool ...and fast ! I loved that car. It would be a collector's car now.

I have a few funny stories about Whitaker (not racing related).... some not appropriate for this forum, but has a little bit to do with some of his nick names.
I had a 29 Ford coupe that was stored in Whitaker's garage for a while, but his wife said it had to go, and it was sold.

Last I knew Whitaker was a mechanic for the Omaha Police Dept, but that was in the 1970s and I have no idea where he or Bridgewater are now.

Those were the good old fun times.

After checking all the photos it does appear that this was taken at Cornhusker raceway, the buildings in the backgorund match other photos on this site.

Mike Daly's car was remade a couple of years ago, I don't think it was the original car, but I could be wrong, it seems I saw it on the H.A.M.B forum but I don't go there anymore so I can't reference it.
Nice pics from everyone, a nice way to remember the old carefree days.

The Grove Bros A/G opel was driven by Jim Grove, who won the Div 5 Modified title over John Prestons Wunderbug Carmen Ghia who won the Modified title at the last Cornhusker WCS race and was also r/u @ the World Finals at Amarillo that year. He moved out west and won the 75 Div 7 Mod championship by winning 4 of the 5 div races. Broke in the final round of the 5th race.

Howdy's car is now in a collection in Lincoln and probably was a Hemi by this time. Hoot used to sub for Howdy now and then. Mike Daugherty was a Black 57 Chevy, He and a couple of guys owned a Speed shop on Q St. Mike, I believe has a Chevy dealership in California. Bob Belik's car was the lime green 56 Chevy with a little 272 inch and was the Belick Bros.
Gary Malmberg and I about got in big trouble at a WCS in Denver running one of their 272's. I made the comment to someone about how good we were running considering we didn't have the right engine in the Corvette. They took it we were claiming 272 instead of our usual 331 engine. We had all the Tech guys over at the car looking it over. They were ready to pump the engine when I pointed out for them to look for the oil filter mount or the bolt holes on the side of the block for motor mounts. They looked and there are not either on a 265 block and they were happy and left us alone.
Jim Hayes, of course has been talked about here about his Camaro.

Still looking for any information on a 67 Camaro nicknamed the CAPN CRUNCH SUPER CAMARO. It was a drag race car since new, turned into a full on race car in 1969. it was built in Omaha Ne and raced at Cornhusker and Scribner. It has also raced at Thunder Valley in SD. I added another photo of the car and will add a few more in the near future. The last time the camaro was on a race track was in 2010 for friday nite street races at Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction Iowa. The car and current owner plan to race this year at the GEEZERS weekend car show and drag race at the motorplex this August.
