wow how quick things can change... i have not been on computer since friday morning.

Sorry sorry to hear this news. Dad has been through a stroke and heart attack in the recent past. It can be tough at times, but these times can also bring families and friends closer together. Take care of Alex, and know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

A short update and more later: He has been moved up to rehabilitation and he is excited about the prospects of a potentially full recovery. Everyone's words of encouragement is extremely helpful! I will have more time later this morning to go into a bit more detail, but for now, all I can say is

Beth, tell the Commander that I will be sending him my old golf clubs....the walk will be therapeutic and at the same time an excellent mode of brain matter stimulation. - they are, of course, NON-RETURNABLE!!

Thank you everyone! We got a few cards in the mail yesterday and they really really lifted his spirits. He had a challenging evening, and reading through them turned him around.
His smile is slowly evening out, getting more strength every day. If anyone nearby is interested in visiting, evenings after 5:30 until 9 is fine. He can take phone calls to, and can speak well, just gets tired easily as they are working him HARD ( and that's a great thing!) |
