Well I am sitting at the back gate posting. We had a great run This morning but boy was it cold. On the 3 designated pairs 1st round--Waibel and Kenny were broke, but Ortiz came up, but was late so his opponent got a single. Gary Richard was broken this morning also. He broke in class yesterday. Well Stock led off this morning and we are last out tonight. But I am thankful just to be there.

We are having a great time here in Florida. It has warmed up and is really nice this afternoon.

All Mopar racers are invited to a barbq this evening from 4-6. Thanks Mopar! I will try to get some pics. I am still having trouble with Photobucket, but I am going to try to upload some pics I took today and will post them later.

Sorry I have not been around for a while, its been a hectic day. Second round for stock was the last class down the track. I see Larry won, so the reporting should continue as long as Patsy gets and good internet connection. I did some photo editing for Patsy and she should have some photos up soon.

Second round for stock and super stock was late. It may have been the reason for the many red lights, but there was also some great close racing. The bite was super for me all weekend and for the most part I think it was good for everyone. Lots of cool wheelstands in super stock and stock.

I should get some nice shot from John DiBartolomeo from Drag Racing Action. I will be sure to post them when I get home

I lost in the second round and will be heading out tomorrow. its been lots of fun. I will be at Charlotte, NC for my next live report, see you all then.

It is cold again this morning! 45 going up to 79 later today. We have Cooter first thing this morning. He won the perfectly strange award last night. I just hope that "old age and treachery will defeat youth and skill " this morning. That was a text from Chris last night!

Cooter got us! Both had .007 lights but Cooter was just .006 over and we were .02 over. Just a great race!

Hey you 2 reporters. Regrets on your 2nd rd. loss and Larry's this morning. I was hoping at some point it would come down to you 2. Wish you both a safe journey home and success for the remainder of the season. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to post. It's greatly appreciated, considering the amount of stuff that has to be done at a race. Ken, hopefully I'll catch up with you at the divisional at Lebanon Valley.

Great driving Larry! Does anyone know if they have scrapped round 4 of super stock for today? They were supposed to have run this morning but they bypassed them (with only 8 cars left) and are now running alcohol cars...don't know why they bother to post a schedule!

As long as they are down to the quarter finals (8 cars or less),they usually are all set until Sunday.If there were 9 cars left,I think they would have run another round.

Thanks... they ran 4th round of stock and super comp, and super stock was on the schedule... I know there is no rhyme or reason... just frustrating when trying to plan other things that need to be done today without missing that all important round....

I just looked and there were 64 cars in Super Stock.If ONE more car was entered,it would have added another round.Pretty sure there originally were more than 64 cars entered,but with a few withdrawing,it made for a 6 round race instead of a 7 round race.

Well, here's the not so live report from Gainesville...

Had a pretty busy day Thursday with qualifying and class, so I didn't get a chance to take pictures. Made it to 2nd round of class and was lumped up by Larry Hill (nice job winning class BTW).

After going .005 red first round Friday, we decided to start heading north. While driving, I decided to make a stop at Coastal Plains Dragway in Jacksonville, NC to hit the first day of the St. Patrick's Day Classic run by our own Michael Beard. Went out 2nd round there and decided to continue on the trip home. There were a few stockers on the grounds, so I had to take a few pics.

I didn't go many rounds, but it was a great trip. Got to meet many new friends and caught up with a few I hadn't seen in a long time. Of course, after so many days of nice weather, I had to come home to more of the white stuff on the ground...

All in all, it was a great trip to Gainesville. A little cold at night, sunny days, a class win, great air, great hook and great friends!

Thanks for stopping, Jeff! Dusty Lowell and Bubba Linke came in late Saturday night on their way home as well, and raced Sunday. It was two days of $10K to win races for both Top ET (Super/Pro) and Footbrake. We had a total of 260 entries between the two classes. Great, exhausting weekend. Kept on the run, running the lanes, playing race director, handing out over $9,000 in prizes, and whatever else, so I didn't get a chance to visit like I wanted to, but appreciate everyone who attended, very much!
