Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Could it be that someone here is getting pissed about getting beat first or second round every race? When the fun quits--seek help!

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Mr. Nolan, perhaps I'm off base here, but when you reference and question the feasibility (read legality) of one that wins 4, 5 or more races a year, I can't help but feel as though your comment is at least somewhat directed towards me. NHRA does do spot electronic checks, and I've been done several times over the years. My car is so simple its not even funny, so it really doesn't take very long.
If you have any interest in obtaining further "piece of mind" when it comes to my dinosaur of a vehicle, feel free to pony up with the funds and have at it. Either you and your friends go to dinner and I lose my sponsors, reputation, means to support my family, etc., or me and my friends go to dinner. I'll be making reservations now... |
Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
translated... put up or shut up!
I for one am tired of hearing/reading all these first round runner ups accuse everyone that wins a race no mind multiple races a cheater. |

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Sorry, 1320 ED. I don't need you to translate. Fletch came through loud and clear.
He didn't even leave anything to read between the lines. OH Don, I have seen him red lite in competition. He ran my little red Camaro with Beard driving. He turned on the bulb just a fraction of a second before Beard did, too. I wish we had unscrewed those red bulbs for that run. He and I had been in a dialing dual in the lanes, over Beards objections, and I think we were down to holding about the same number. We both wanted to leave last. Both cars were probably very equal in E.T.'s & MPH. That would have been a pretty good race at the stripe. Need I point out that he is human just like you and me. When it comes to racing He just has a better skill set so he has trained & polished himself a little (a lot):) better than most of us. I've always thought that individuals like him have "Earned" respect, not criticism. |

Please tell me what 60ft times and a red Chevelle have to do with this thread??? If you would like to compare **** sizes with another racer, please start your own thread and lets get back to the real topic of where Fletcher will be dining on someone elses dime. |

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Sorry Dan but I would never accuse anyone that they may be doing something wrong, I believe that's the tech officials job. I just feel that there needs to be regular spot checks for driver aids. Just like fuel, weight, legal combo, and safety. I have not heard of any of the Stock or Superstock community having their cars spot checked! All I said is I would welcome driver aid checks. It seems that no matter what anyone has to say here someone is ready to twist your words and jump down your throat just because you have an opinion! Lighten up, no one has anything to worry about unless they really do have something to worry about?

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
I had my car checked over a few years ago after cutting a .006 light in the 4th round at a National Event. I'm not a guy who has very many .00 lights, so I'm pretty sure I triggered something with NHRA's data. After fuel check, a younger Tech guy I had never seen before said "Hi, pull your car over here and I'm going to check some stuff". He also asked me to stand over away from the car. I said great. Anyway, he spent about 15 minutes under the car and under the dash. He said everything was good. I wish NHRA would do more of this.

A couple years ago I had this guy hounding me to trade my 69 Camaro stocker for a crate motor car. One day when He called I said ok but I wanted the car the next day. Well sure enough, He was at my shop with the car the next morning. Deal was trade plus He would give me $3000.00 Well when he was at my shop he only had $1,000 but promised he would send me the balance when He got home. I'm still waiting for a $1000. of it. Looking at the car when He left I realized the wiring was a mess so I had a friend take it to his shop to rewire the car,,,, BUSTED !!! We found a delay box hidden in the car,, We took pictures of the whole set up and sent them to NHRA and IHRA. To make matters worse the motor had a SS cam in it... I hate a Cheater !!! No,,, it's not the white car I have now, |

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Dan, I have to say that your small piece of cardboard is an unfair advantage just below your rear view mirror. Just to make it fair to all the racers out there, you could manufacture some and make it available to all the racers out there for a small fee of just " $19.95 " and all of us can now cut those killer lights, once you own one you can forget all those crazy electronics. You could give Dan a Little Red Wagon ( the one we all had when we where kids) and he would probably beat most on the top end with the on and off the push with his right foot.lol I'm sure that no one is pointing the finger at you in the first place. just look on utube and check out who's out there showing us how to do it properly in the first place.
Where there's is man you will find someone to push the envelope in anything.Keep up the good work. Claude Ruel |

Either way it would be wrong, but I was just curious if the guy even won a round. It would really make him want to sell the car if he cheated and STILL lost first round every race. |

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Some thing you guys forgot to say was some guys just have the luck no matter what. I have see some guys win on 50 lights then loose the next round with a double 0. If it is your day its your day and if you have skill and good luck at the same time you go rounds. Tom

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
What's the cost to pull a rear end cover? Felt I better edit this and put in no reference to Dan which can drive anything anywhere as he has done in several classes.

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
No Tom, I didn't twist your words around, nor jump down your throat. On a thread that basically centered around "cheating", you mentioned spot checks, I agree. But you then chose to highlight how difficult it is to win and that the odds of winning multiple times in a season must be "incredible". Your implication is clear, and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. Own it.
I simply stated that NHRA does in fact do spot checks, and that the opportunity is there for you to have my car inspected. That is fact, not veiled innuendo... Lighten up? I have a suggestion for you, and I'll give you a hint. It starts with go... |
Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Dan could give everyone a free .015 light and still beat them 80% of the time. the fact that is crazy enough to do this to feed his family makes him insane in my book. How many on here would have the guts to try it.

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Are some people around here channeling Ed O'Cryin' or something?
   |
Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Please accept my apologies Dan, there was never intent to reference you in my post. I thought this thread in my first post was about driver aid spot checks not who's cheating? You have my respect traveling the country drag racing for a living, chasing sponsors, collecting contingency winnings must be very stressful. I race because I enjoy the challenge of racing within a defined set of rules that need to include driver aid checks! I have never even come close to winning a national event and likely never will. I get a bigger kick out of class than anything. I could never do what you do ....mostly because I'm just not that good, and the pressure would be far greater than I could stand! I'm sure my cars will be the first to be spot checked, and I'm OK with that. Please have a nice day I hope I have not offended anyone else. Life is far to short to be pissed off!

Alan, Which Ed would that be?

Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
This is all too much.
10 years ago I used to put a folded piece of paper labelled "Cheat Sheet" on my dashboard and lock the car and leave. It drove everyone bongkers! Probably/hopefully, enough for them to lose their focus and most rounds against me, LMAO! I got the local jacket that year! |
Re: I just noticed the entries for the national event
Dan as you can see YOU CANT FIX STUPID..
These internet Jockeys are just what they are STUPID. Idiot Tom Nolan your apology is a JOKE.Guilty as charged you and JOK-OFF are really STUPID internet scum. Dan Fletcher is who he is from hard work and having a HUGE SET to make a living at this game..Hardest WORKING MAN IN DRAG RACING..HANDS DOWN. Dam I don't even know why I consider Dan A friend ..all he has done is kick my *** everytime we have raced,,, I guess I'm TO STUPID to quit trying.... |

I consider Tom Nolan as a very good friend of mine and Your assessment of him is very wrong (you don't even know him)> calling people names shows simply the name calling person has really nothing to offer in a discusion . No one brought up Dan,s name except Dan .Tom did not accuse one single person of cheating with a electronic device . Some internet lurkers as well as people who post under a phony name or alias sometimes think the post was geared towards them some time it is and some time is isn't I guess it all depends on the subject being discussed |
