Heads-up racing separates Stock and Super Stock racing from bracket racing. Lucas Oil Class Eliminations takes center stage on Friday of the 2nd Annual Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals, featuring heads-up racing among each individual class within a category. Each class winner will receive an Iron Tree Trophy, Class Win Decal, Lucas Oil Product, AFIS Ignition Wire Set, California Water Blade, and those winners who use the product and decals for *both* ATI Transmission *and* ATI Torque Converter will be eligible for $50 Contingency.

Last year, there were 93 different Lucas Oil Class Eliminations winners! Check out every one of them at http://www.looserocker.com/wp-conten...SS_WINNERS.pdf

There's still tons of work to do and a whole 'nuther page to do for the event flyer, but figured I'd throw this work-in-progress flyer out here for now...

$15/day. There will likely be some $5-off discount coupon flyers available at some area stores leading up to the event, as we did last year with Summit, Jegs, and Faslube.

REMINDER: NHRA license and chassis cert is required for all 9.99-quicker entries.

For our Carolina friends, if you're going to Rockingham this weekend, you can likely get it done there. For anyone else in need, please check with your NHRA Division office.

3 days for 45 bucks was a great bargain for what we got last year! If you didn't go last year, by all means go this year, we had a blast,, not to mention, the classracer.com family members we met last year. I wish I could make it back, but can't this time around.

Re: Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals II

Danny Durham is 100% correct; $45 for 3 days of great Stock and Super Stock racing is the best bargain that you will find anywhere. My wife and I attended last year and we had a blast; and met many of my Class Racer brethren, including Danny. I will definitely be back this year bright and early on Friday August 21.

We would like to thank Brian Seibenick at LiveDevelop and RacingBlogz.com and Jeff Ross from the Buckeye S/SS Series for keeping the Friday night Junior Stock Shootout alive.

The Buckeye Stock/Super Stock Series has an event THIS WEEKEND at Kil-Kare Dragway in Xenia, OH! Please come out and show your support. Kil-Kare is a great facility that has undergone a ton of improvements over the years. Friendly staff, too.

Wide, smooth, Accutime timing system, and track prep by Top Gun Timmy Garman of Norwalk fame.

Per the boss:
Quote:

Gates open at 10am Saturday morning. Time runs will start at 10:45am with Jr. Dragsters. The run order for the day will be Pro, Super Pro, Pro Bike, Sportsman, Buckeye Stock and Super Stock and UMTR Quick Stick and Street Stick. If we had to pin a time down for the first session qualifier for the Buckeye S/SS cars, it would be 1:30pm give or take a few. And our second session would be hopefully at 3:30-4:00pm. As you well know schedules sometimes get adjusted and will do our best to keep things in line time wise.
I have been watching the weather for Saturday and there is a 60% chance of rain (which means there is a 40% chance of no rain). As the day progresses the chance of rain lessens considerably, so I feel good about the race for Saturday.
Also the track is running a Pro/NO Box race Friday. Gates open at 5PM and racers will be on the track by 5:30 with a single time run followed by first round. It pays $1000 to win along with going back to the 1/8's with money. Entry fee is $50 and buybacks are available as well.
Also, I've seen where the Memorial race for Richard Doane and Dave Layer at Kanawah Valley has been put off because of rain in the forecast for that area. Now you don't need to be on the fence as to where to race if you were undecided.
OK. that's it for now. If you have any questions call me at 740-359-5877 (cell). Thanks,
Jeff Ross

Re: Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals II

The racing community was deeply saddened at the loss of Super Stock racer Dave Layer of Heads-Up Cylinder Heads last year. Dave was the go-to guy for go-fast cylinder head work, and he was a big supporter of last year's race. Not only that, but he could drive, too, finishing in the Top 10 in NHRA Div. 3. With the family's blessing, we will honor and remember him in the most fitting way: showcasing the go-fast elite of S/SS racing with the Dave Layer Memorial Quick 32 CIC Shootout.

The race will feature the Friday's Top 16 Qualifiers in both Stock and Super Stock, and pit them in a Competition Eliminator-style battle royale: Sportsman ladder, .500 Full Tree handicapped off their respective Index, but the first to the finish wins!

Loose Rocker welcomes back presenting sponsors Comp Cams and Legacy HVAC/Carrier (If you're in the Louisville, KY area, call Super Stock racer Matt Alvey first for your heating and air conditioning solutions!), and new this year is the addition of Stock racer MJ Quinn's Derby City Covers. They make The Classic Coverall -- much more than a fender cover. As the name implies, these custom-fitted one-piece covers protect both fenders *and* the nose of the car, perfect for those trips to the teardown barn! The two finalists will both receive a Classic Coverall. (and an invite to the barn...?)

https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...eb&oe=5612E350
Derby City Covers make more than just complete front end wraparound fender covers. Just this weekend I've seen tire covers for trailer-wall mounted spares, and these gorgeous rollbar covers.

As the absolute leader in valve train technology, Comp Cams needs no introduction, but you can find all the pieces-parts you need at www.compcams.com. While you're there, check out Comp's sister companies as well. One of those is FAST (Fuel Air Spark Technology) who will also be supporting the racers once again with gift certificates.

Good luck to all that attend. I will not be making the trip this year. Several asked if I was doing the K Shootout again. I had major back surgery in May(rods, plates and screws) so I'm unable to drive until next year. If there is a class nationals III ill see about another Shootout. Have fun and stay cool....

I appreciate that, but we need a substantial car count to cover the strong payouts and all of the extras we do. We are currently in a fairly central location per capita. We'll have to see how we do this year and next with different schedules within this strong draw area. I like Memphis, but unfortunately, even in its NHRA National Event days, they did not drawn the cars necessary to support this kind of event. It would take a serious commitment from the racers.

That is irrelevant to an independent event put on by an outside promoter. We set the class rules. Our concerns are location, facility and staff, scheduling, weather, and cost.
