Re: David Layer
When I first started racing, I was like everyone else. I wanted to win every round and every race. Our sport will humble you very quickly. The longer I raced, the more I learned that it was about the people that cross your path, and the good ones that touch your heart. Dave Layer touched hearts. RIP my friend, you will be missed. My condolences to the Layer family.

Re: David Layer
Condolences and Sympathies to the Layer family for your loss. I also did not know Dave very well, usually just a friendly nod and a hello, but you always knew Dave was there and would be racing hard as he was always at the top of the Qualifying sheet, no matter what Eliminator he ran. I am sure he is in good company now and the list of the "Great Ones" just became longer.

Re: David Layer
Dave was one of the absolute best guys out there, I'm really going to miss him. One of my favorite memories was in Belle Rose in 2012. I believe it was Dave's first time down there, but he got runner up in the CIC race and went double-0 red in the semi's of the main race. I thought for sure that he was going to win them both, he was on that weekend. When I think of Super Stock, Dave is one of the first people who comes to mind. We lost an excellent friend today. DeDe and Lindsay, I can't imagine how hard this is for you, you're both in my prayers. Rest in peace Dave.

I truly believe that he is in "a better place" but this place will never be as good as it was when he was with us. Our hearts go out to DeDe and Lindsay and his racing family the "Good Time Gang".
