Chuck Blossom in the PT Cruiser. I don't think FS can get it done as well as Chuck. Course when B/SA gets to beatin the stuffing out of each other, maybe. Or maybe some new combo that is layin in the weeds waiting.

yeah there is always the "laying in the weeds" guys. who
knows there is a fella in the northeast great at finding
those combo's as well as another fella in the southwest real
good at that. I think the PT has had enough power put on
don't know if it is a 2 second under player or not.?
I think it may be the 180/204 combo in the guide.

59 "New" cars entered. it's gonna fill.

Re: Indy

It looks like 60 of the "new" (2008-up) will take almost half of the field of 128. The rest of us will asking ourselves, " Is my car one of the 68 fastest out of the rest of the field (read cars made before 2008) of 140 cars. This F/X stuff without AHFS is still way wrong!!!!

If the F/X cars are going to be in the eliminator the "Q" and "E" should be used for AHFS. If the F/X cars only run there race and not the eliminator no AHFS. No free lunches.

When was the last time that anyone qualified in the top four at a race where F/X cars ran, I can't think of anyone. The top four on the sheet will get all the byes if they can get there. As it is now the rest of the cars are locked out of all the bye rounds, does not seem fair and equitable to the rest of us.

Good point.

Or.....just turn off the AHFS completely for this race and it will be fair to all Stock racers.

Then Class run-offs will really get exciting !

Last year at Indy, that memory is slipping

Re: Indy

Sure, a little oddball combination will get to the top of the sheet from time to time. Larry's point is still valid. The one bright spot for the older cars is that the new cars may be working their way back down. Last year there were 69 of them at Indy. They may manage to surpass that number this year. But it won't be by a bunch. Glen Gray worked on trying to level the playing field for Indy but it appears he ran into some strong corporate resistance. nhra is an outfit that knows no shame so don't expect anything approaching equity out of them.

lol! They only use the Sportsman committee votes when it suits their agenda.

Larry Hill 08-17-2015 07:40 AM

Re: Indy

I think the field should be 128, class winners and the rest field filled by the fastest class losers. I believe that will bring the newer combos in line with older cars quicker. Everyone wants to be in the "Show" and will run the cars hard enough to get in the eliminator, cause sitting on the outside and looking in is really $***$.

If the rest of us have to live by the 1.20 under rule why not the F/X cars?

I enjoy the F/X show, it looks to be a fan favorite, now if they,NHRA, would just make it palatable to the rest of the eliminator.

Why do people keep putting all the new cars into the same group?

Based off last year there were 30 Shootout cars.

http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCSt...r2014#indextop

7 that didn't make the cut for the eliminator. So 23 cars didn't have to live by the AHFS.

Based off that... It's 105 of the fastest old cars not 68.
There are a good number of cars on this years list that are not FS/X, XX cars.

FS/X and FS/XX cars will be the ones eating up spots and not have to play by the rules.

ALL OTHER FS cars have to live and play by the normal AHFS rules...

When checking last year's Stock Qualifying sheet, did you happen to notice how many of the new cars were in the top 50? Soft HP anyone??? Also it is a bunch of pig snot to allow one car to circumvent the rules much less 23.

9 A/SA;, 14 B/SA, 2 C/SA ?/9 F/SA Don't know on Shoot Out cars vs regular class. Print is so small, can't see very good. More as I struggle with print.

Re: Indy

20 SS/AH & more coming, 18 FSS/Something or other, 5 FGT/some old car new motor, some new car, different motor. 23 FS or FG, the exact number of classes created this year to wind up with 109 Super Stock classes. 142 Entered So Far. Won't make all 200 I think. I think last year all the cars were in the big show after everything was counted? Anybody with a memory remember? If my calculations are anywhere close that leaves 99 cars to 85 Classes. Big Combo races

Took a .882 last year.

Going to be tough for the guys with non Factory Shootout cars to keep within a 1 tenth window.

Do you mean the 1.00 under trigger? It won't apply since it will be a "mineshaft" race. No one will get HP from Indy unless it's 1.20 under.

The 70's? Wow, that is like No Problem in the winter. A good day here is getting below 80 at night. Just so you know, I will purchase beer in Indy cause it's cheaper than Louisiana. Might need some riders at the super market as you can only buy 3 cases each.

Uncle Jeff it's only cheaper there because the alcohol content is higher in Louisiana beer than it is in Indiana beer, thus you have to drink more beer for the same buzz. Am I gonna have to get cliff to call you so he can give you the alcohol percentage breakdown by state? LOL...u know he knows
