Larry is trying to find someone for a discussion on this! Everyone join in! This is absolutely ridiculous! 830 miles one way to be treated this way! We were here 20 years ago with the truck! We really have some information to dial off for round 1 with no time trial! Just hold us over and let us run on Monday! Probably 90% of the sportsmen racers are staying over for the Dutch anyway!

Just got this text "Based on SRAC input--sportsman will have a qualifying run/time shot prior to eliminations. Eliminations may roll into Monday for Completion.

The meeting went very well, as it turned out. It was conducted as if it was a regular business meeting. Whoever spoke, the rest listened. The SRAC group expressed their point of view and gave reasons to support the wants of the racers. NHRA said that they would re-evaluate and make a decision. The decision was made to give all sportsman one time trial before I returned to my trailer.


This was a good meeting, NHRA and the racers both won!

I can't believe it - the seas have parted and it stopped raining .For the first time in many days nothing is coming down from the skies and we might actually get on the track this morning .Other than a thick layer of dew the ground is pretty dry - but I'm wondering why the NHRA Safety Safari isn't out on the track tidying things up.Hmmmmm........We were supposed to do an early start to help get things prepared for the Pro's first session .Maybe I spoke too soon as I just saw one of those shiny black Chevrolet trucks go by .But no sign of jets or tire scrubbers or vacumns .

Back in a bit - btw, its chilly and overcast , but at least it's not makin' down ! ! !

Looks clear till about 1-2pm then more R stuff. Wonder if sportsman will go out first or the Pros.

I know Stk, SC & SSTK were supposed to be out first but, that can all change. Super Gas runs at like 4pm tonight.

With low quotas these days, you can finish the whole race in one day. Gators started with e1 stock on Sunday morning and finished the entire program by 6:00pm. Just need some decent weather and no oil down issues.

Larry , the track is oblivious to the fact that they broadcast on the same frequency as a college station in Reading .
Most times when we race here , every time the announcer stops talking the Latin , salsa stuff comes back on !
It was a little amusing that when they were announcing they were on hold this morning a Spanish version of Lay your head on my shoulder was playing !

Still no word on todays schedule. We have a mist in the air and no track drying equipment is on the track. I only found one car out, and a few open trailer doors. As soon as we know something we will let everyone know.


Correction, I now hear the track dryer up and running.

Latest word is Stock will be out at 10:45, followed by Top Fuel.

Stock Q1 is in the books! And we won Class!! Only 55 stockers made the run. They allowed you to withdraw with no penalty and obviously some took advantage of that. The track was hooking great! Chris Holbrook made the quickest stock run ever @ 8.11!

Hi yo Silver - that's what most of us felt like on our q1 and only pass .The track had such teeth it was unbelieveable .Even with the high humidity racers were coming up with best evers .Great job by Bob Lang and his Safety Safari bunch .

It looks like Stock got the "Mineshaft Conditions" to kick in so that the -1.00 runs don't count only the -1.20 runs.....

It was tough to get any photos today, most racers left their cars in the trailer. The pro's were also cut short with more rain and a damp track tonight, hoping for a good day tomorrow.
