i agree with what you're saying, isn't it the engine that gets the hit? Will a 340 AVS engine (like mine) get the same increase as the 340 Thermoquad, like in the D/SA? Hope not.

Uncle jeff I been on the dyno all day and haven't gotten to enjoy this debate! I got one engine done with a 250hp nitrous jet then I got the one we will call "doomsday" all plumbed up with a 400hp shot in it, we are bringing 3 engines and 5 sets of Pistons just to try to keep up...

I'm not familiar with the track the record was set at, but I would not be surprised to see a .30 swing going to Indy.

I have not checked the entry list for Indy. If the D/SA from Maine runs....my bet is that he will not go in the nines. Bet it is 10 o's. And Steve might not bring Mr. 413. It might be his 1963 car, very little difference between a 62/413 and a 63/426....except carburetors. Hello Stevie.

My bet... an A/SA will run in the 90's.....no takers..lol....in the 80's??? No way they will get in the 70s....

Carbs are the same, 14 HP difference if both are lo comp.

An A/SA that only runs in the .90s at Indy will be a runner up......It'll take 9.90's to win in B, maybe even C (that's a big maybe). The D car from Maine ( if it shows up) will run Ten teens -EASY-...What will be interesting is AA. Who's gonna show up? And who's gonna be in AA trim? - Madison? Cooper? Shaul? Will the Carp Rocket be in A or AA?...With that being said, and depending on the players, It'll take a low .60 / high .50 to win AA, even at 3500'. It's INDY ! As Big Dan would say, Go Fast, or Go Home!

The wedge might struggle a little in bad air, but Mr. 413 obviously has the combination figured out and Mr. 426 will be there too.
It just crossed my mind that Mr Larry Hill has been very coy on this forum that past few weeks, deflecting attention from himself, and we all know he arrives to The Big Go ready.
Travis Hess and John Gray have been strong lately and could be a dark horses.
It should be a classic.

Frank, You're missing a couple more "off-brand' 9 second players.

An easy fix would be bring back the Fuel Infected class like it used to be just like IHRA has now. let the F.I. Cars beat up on each other and let the old cars run each other.problem solved LOL.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Factory Stock classes supposed to be the modern day versions of the fuel injected classes? That plan almost worked until under factored Mopar and GM cars got into the guide with super soft HP ratings.

Looks like that bit of relief was short lived. NHRA has a solution: just build a new car

Sure. Why not? You get to use a 9" Ford rear and a Pustelny designed 4 link on most any new car.
I doubt we'll see many leaf spring / Caltracs combos.

I'm very familiar with the track(Miramichi dragway). It's faster than any other track.it at sea level and a little down hill.traction is all ways good.DA is low most of the time(in Sept and Oct the DA will be -1200 and you will pick up .15).The track is good for .08 or .09 in July when the open is there.

The Same guys are always going to be at the top of the sheet
because they're always willing to adapt to whatever Nhra comes out with. It's really that simple
It's just harder for you older guys to adapt with new technology and cars. So bitching about the new stuff is a easy way out.

Hey Charlie, what is your definition of "new technology"? You don't have to adapt to it, you can always write a check. Some of the old guys, like Kyle R, have to save some money for Viagra and Metamucil. Also, there is a fair amount of bitching about some older cars lately too, but I get what you're saying.

If NHRA put an honest effort into making Stock Eliminator fair I bet over half the new cars wouldn't get built.

Good luck this year btw, thought you had it last year!

Mr. MacKay, I must also add up one more factor to that great racetrack. The oxygen quality, which is a lot higher there, 21 %, maybe 22+...
(And sorry for disturbing this very good post)

Al won the Street King class this weekend at the NMRA race at Norwalk. This is an index class and Al was on a 10.00 index.

Great. That makes several 10.0 A/SA cars this past weekend. This will be fun.
