Re: Horsepower on tuesday
"Haters and Drama" Jeff did you ever think that you create that? I raced Cody heads up a few years ago in Vegas . I noticed your weight sticker after we flipped the coin. 2780 lbs the class min in ss/bs is 2850lbs I talked too Cody and said he needs too add 70 lbs too get too class minimum. I talked too you and you told Cody too pull the car up. I told you then you dont want too do that. You guys did and 25 minutes later Cody was tossed. In the Dragster a while later I read it was a 'misunderstanding". I dont beleive that is a misunderstanding. I told you what was going too happen before we raced. Thats my 2 cents Put it towards a Rule book or a mirror. Grant Singer

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
What is the actual rule for a DQ'd run after you already made a good run and you are on the Ladder?

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
I got to admit I never thought they would get the hp so good job by NHRA. Now this leads me to believe NHRA had some reasonable proof that they dropped the weight at the end of the track and that in fact it was a legal pass so therefore I wonder if there will be disciplinary action taken........

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
Just when I thought NHRA did not give a s**t about STK elim....

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
This has been an interesting read. Recently another Corvette went more than 1.20 under and he stood up and owned it and took the hit. Big difference in character.
|
Re: Horsepower on tuesday
Where does it say this combo got 10 HP? I do not see that on any of the NHRA websites.
|
Re: Horsepower on tuesday
It was on the nhracompetition website but is not there now.

You have now entered the Twilight Zone. Please don't adjust your T.V. We control everything.
The info was there last night. Now it is gone. |

Horsepower adjustments following the NHRA Lucas Oil Division 6 event in Woodburn, OR
7/16/2019 As the result of runs under the Automatic Horsepower Factoring System (AHFS) 1.20-second under policy at the NHRA Division 6 event, the following change has been made. The horsepower rating for 73-74 Chevrolet Corvette, entries with the 350 cubic inch engine and a factory rating of 190-195 currently rated at 283, has been increased by ten horsepower, to 293 horsepower; for Stock Eliminator. NHRA's 2019 Automatic Horsepower Factoring System outlines that any run of 1.20-seconds or more under the index will receive an immediate index decrease or horsepower increase. These changes are effective July 16, 2019. |

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
C'mon....guys. Man, it's pretty damn simple to me. These Lane guys are smart. And they knew if they waited long enough the heat in all of the engine and surrounding metals would cool, adding lots of oxygen molecules to it thus making the car heavier and la-la, make weight.
Really. |
Re: Horsepower on tuesday
You can't help to think how this whole deal would turned out if it was a 396 Camaro that was involved, it would probably have been a 50/50 situation on here:)

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
I thought it was a 427 Camaro

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
That is because last year I let them know that the 1973 has a different body and , intake manifold .I asked them to separate the 1974 and 1973 corvettes.. They answered me saying not only are the body and intake different but the 73 has different head. Now after getting the horsepower increase I wrote and reminded them that last year they separated us in the year end stats. This was there answer. With the stroke of a pen they made the parts legal on the 1974.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
Once again a -1.20 run with no tear down (Thanks Div 6 for confirming you are the weakest div of the 7). Why is it so hard to check spec's and make sure the combo is 100% right after some earns hp for a combo NHRA? If I had that combo I would protest Lane the next race just on principal and the works rod piston, everything.
NHRA Runs of -1.20 or faster should be automatic tear down NO MATTER WHAT LBS THE CAR CROSSED THE SCALES AT. NHRA Runs of -1.00 should be a mandatory carb/throttle body check and casting numbers. This will stop a lot of the BS problems we have now in SS and STK on heads up runs I guess if NHRA is not going to do this the group of racers in D3 will try and keep our div some what on the up and up(More protest to come). |

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
I thought that was the norm if you didn't tear down you were out for a year and when you came back you had to tear down then,I didn't know they ever changed that ?
