Did they run or finish the 1/8 mile open race too?

I looked at the National & Divisional races left that both Slate & Ryan could claim points at. Slate has 4 National races already and Ryan has 4 National too. You can only claim 5 National races correct ?? So either racer can only claim 1 more National, is that right ?? |

Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
Let’s hope our Division 2 Director reads and hears all the issues with Rockingham before we have another D2 points race there. It doesn't matter if it's NHRA or IHRA nothing has been changed or updated in years. Let's go back to Bristol, Silver Dollar or stay at Zmax after National Event but NOT Rockingham.

Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
Deserved or not Rockingham has the reputation for being “the Rink” so I’m doubtful the attendance will be as good next year. You can judge for yourself by watching the class runs on Warren’s YouTube channel. That said I think attendance was boosted this year by how close some of the National and D1/D2 points chases were. In any case since Bruton doesn’t seem inclined to host Divisionals Reynolds is the only other option. But if Galot succeeded in facilitating a 1/4 track then you’d see a phenomenal turnout there. Gainesville is probably too far south to draw big but I’d much prefer there even if it meant hosting 2 Division races there (already done in other divisions).

Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
Make no mistake about it the only reason the car counts were this good is because it is the last division points claim in the entire east. Put it any where else on the schedule and you would see what most people think of the place. Other than resurfacing of the track I can't think of anything that has been done there in the last 20 or so years. When they were grinding the track a couple years ago they should've used that thing to grind the roots growing in the pit roads.

Come on jack that’s easy most cars are skating around

I guess Jack never played hockey.

Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
I think that you are overlooking a primary reason for the good turnout,,,,2 races/grade points in one weekend.
No clue on how my car would hook there, but we need to be able to adjust to conditions, can't imagine it was any worse than a sweltering summer day at the track. |
Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
Dave,
I watched most if not all of qualifying and round coverage of Stock and saw many cars spin the tires hard including a wagon in the right lane that may have been Lee Tuttle or Madison Wilson, I don't remember which. With that being said, some cars hooked just fine. I guess the groove was very narrow. |

Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
I agree with Dave the double points race is why I went there. After the first time trial it was apparent the traction wasn't the best and the tree was real loose. Made adjustments and hooked good for the next two passes. The starting line crew worked hard and stayed after it to give us the best they could. My car just didn't want to make first round. BP

Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
It was the worst starting line and track I have been on this year ok

Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
I had never been to Rockingham. I had adjusted shocks and clutch prior to going there for the test session and it worked well. I had my best 60 foot times and ets. My 60 foot times did not vary more than a hundredth. I was stupid and didn’t adjust my clutch pedal for rollout until it was too late. It was different and definitely looser.
Now I have a big tire LT1 combo so it is easier to hook than a 800 hp small tire radial deal, but there are times in the summer where I really have to adjust in the heat to hook and the automatic racers don’t seem to have a problem. I guess some cars are a little more sensitive than others with Radials and lots of power, converter and gear. I am sure they can be adjusted as well. That being said, I watched some cars spin that should never spin. Looked like the starting line crew was working the line, but they seemed to spray a lot maybe too much on the line so it might have made things worse at times. The water box was pretty bad. Sometimes no water and sometimes messy. Now some of that could be avoided if the guys wouldn’t go too fast through the puddle and drag water ten feet past the box. That being said, the track crew should watch for that. All in all, the track location, facility and surface is more than workable. I am sure with some oversight and coaching the starting line can improve. There are ways to adjust race cars as noted. Maybe bias ply tires aren’t so bad after all. I couldn’t run Radials either. LOL |
Re: “Live” from Rockingham LODRS 2019
Darlington would be a great place to race... Only if they were NHRA sanctioned. I rather go there then rockingham. Just my two cents.
