It is too bad that Doug Kalitta didn't win the Championship. There is a class act.

The whole incident at Pomona took away all Steve had achieved this year. IMHO

I will be surprised if NHRA does much to Steve. The team did nothing wrong, it was all Steve.

Not to worry folks, NHRA is working furiously interviewing those involved and reviewing video tape evidence but took time to appoint another suit to the Board of Directors, this one with expertise in live entertainment events. In the spirit of P.T. Barnum, the show must go on! Talk about tone deaf...

She has expertise in FINANCING live entertainment events.
Just another banker. I'm sure that she'll take care of properly investing the NHRA's profits so that those Golden Parachutes will blossom. Probably also be involved in cutting expenses to improve the bottom line.

Ever coach Little League ball? Youth soccer? Same mentality here. Usually some dad, living vicariously through his son, can't keep it under control and these things happen there.It doesn't belong anywhere, but the term"professional" should result in less of it. Success sometimes breeds ego, the more success, the greater the egomania. I always wondered, how do some people we all know develop an ego problem when they not only have no success racing, they are complete failures with the rest of their lives?

If NHRA is going to promote this they need to get him some fight lesson or maybe one of his fellow Texans could teach him. Erica is from Texas my she could teach him how to fight she would have done a better job.

He should have never been allowed to advance to the 2nd rd.DQ'd on the spot,lost all points for that race,and told to leave the premises. Then be fined and suspended at the beginning of next year for whatever amount and time was decided.The sad part here by allowing him to advance he became TF Champion...gsa612

This article makes it sound like NHRA is trying to figure what to do. Like everyone here points out, if it were a sportsman doing this they would be fined and suspended.

Apparently it's $1500 for doing a sportsman racer spinning his tires in the pits, no charge for a pro racer punching someone on national television. Just to clarify...

Well, I don't know about the club but I would have to say that the next time a Sportsman Racer "open hand shoves" another Sportsman Racer there is going to be the potential for a pretty good lawsuit if there is a fine or suspension.

He would be a DEAD Mother F'er on the spot ! I carry all the time ! On second thought I would not have to do the dirty deed. My wife carries also and she is damn good with her pistol. My son works for the CIA and is better than both of us. Torrence is just a rich punk and should be careful who he assaults in todays world or he could get a lead surprise !

Action taken today $25,000 fine to better the safety safari and anger management classes for Steve Torrence. Zero suspension or points deduction. He publicly apologized at the awards banquet.

Statement of Action Against Participant

The following action has been taken against Steve Torrence regarding an incident that occurred during the Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona on November 17, 2019 regarding an altercation with a fellow competitor. Torrence publicly apologized for his conduct at the season-end awards ceremony on November 18, 2019. Torrence has been fined twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) and must complete anger management sessions. The fine will be dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the Safety Safari. The action is appealable.

I didn't threaten the butt hole. Just said what I would do if he attacked my wife or me ! My son can take care of himself. I believe very strongly in the 2nd amendment. Screw him.

Our entire extended adult family carries in all states that our permits are valid (Most)!

Drop in the bucket!.He won half a million for the TF Championship.If he was kicked in the first rd.after the altercation like he should of been the best he would land up would have been 3rd...gsa612
