They don’t move it because of car count though I agree it’s miserable. Without any research I would guess after Vegas and St. Louis most car count for divisional.

It is hard to get spectators when the heat index is 110 and no shade. But I will be there.

According to a pretty reliable source this divisional is a "track rental by a private party".

I have heard that the same group that has leased the dirt circle track is going to lease the drag strip also. Have also heard that the Circle Track Management group( Nascar) who owns both tracks has had big time offers to sell the drag strip and has turn those down.

In late October I made an inquiry as to their plans and this was the response:

"Thank you for contacting Chicagoland Speedway/Route 66 Raceway. At this time we don’t have any announcements on Route 66 events for 2022, but that we hope to have more information soon"

So there's hope

Will Sonoma get a divisional race? Usually already scheduled. Would be nice to hear from NHRA or even someone from Sonoma Raceway.

Division 7 is not looking very healthy for 2022.

Well we did not get Sonoma but we did get a double in Bakersfield! Thanks NHRA.
Very disappointed we didn’t get a double Sonoma.

Move to TN from my home I can go to 5 Stock and Super Stock combos and a points race and a national open 39 minutes from my home at Bowling Green. They drag the track almost just before Stock and Super runs the Purse is $2,000. There are three more Drag strips within an hour and a half from our home.. Indy is 5 hours away they have a National open a points meet and of course the national meet, St Louis Is appx 5 hours away they have a national event plus divisional. National Trails has the Jegs Sportsnationals Plus points meet the track is appx 5 hours away need I say More :)Call me anytime 602 284 6240

The eight hours to Joliet or Norwalk is better than what D5-D6-D7 racers face plus none of the big mountain passes! Doubles make a lot of sense for those folks but still a big time commitment.

Bakersfields is a happy surprise to me. Last time we had a NHRA divisional was somewhere around 1994. The double headers sure saves a lot of money. I can see a real good car count coming there.
The new schedule is nice from my home here in Las Vegas now.

I had to look through my 2008 Jegs Log Book, to find out that Bakersfield held a LODRS race in Sept. 2008, that I raced in, back when my now former class of DF/S had the 15.90 index there (I don't however recall if Auto Club Famoso Raceway, was an altitude track or not?). Paul, I would've preferred they scheduled that race in September (like '08), instead of 2-3wks prior to the Vegas fall races, as its scheduling isn't much better than Tucson's was last year (in geographic relation that is). I am glad though, that LVMS did step up and make their spring race a doubleheader.
