Re: Joe Sorenson
350/300 was base engine in SS Camaro. It should have either a cowl or a SS hood.

Re: Joe Sorenson
I'm having flashbacks to the time I commented on here about Jimmy Alund's taillights not matching the year claimed, which itself isn't a problem but led to others noticing that the year claimed could not possibly fit into class being run, and him being thrown out.
|
Re: Joe Sorenson
if they can't get him thrown out on alleged cheating the next avenue in the playbook is to try a class rules infraction.
I don't know about the rest of you but I'm feeling the "camaraderie" everyone has here with their fellow racers. |
Re: Joe Sorenson
Why would Sorensen run ESA?
That?s Cooters class He?s smarter than that Misprint? |
Re: Joe Sorenson
Jerry MacNeish could end this ZL2 hood debate, onc and for all !

Re: Joe Sorenson
It really doesn't have much to do with the hood. If the car has a 350/255 then it HAS to run either F/G/H Stock which he did in Dallas (G). At the Vegas Natl. Event, he ran F, At the Div. Race, he's running E. A 350/255 combo can't run E. A 350/300 combo can't run G. Did he change the heads or the engine since Dallas? The hood is just one of those things that SHOULD be changed (the Fletcher rule).
As far as running E and CLAIMING a 350/300 if it's not then that could screw up the AHFS averages. I'm not accusing Joe of cheating, I'm just asking a legitimate question that any Stock Eliminator Racer should be asking and did any NHRA Tech Official look or even care? |

This is why your a ?bracket dad? wannabe class racer or act like it anyway, unfortunately for you there are rules to class racing that we all chose to abide by! Few years ago they made a big stink about these Camaro hoods, you wouldn?t know because again your a ?bracket dad?, buy a rule book and read about stock eliminator then maybe you will have a clue and not just be a loud mouth about every single post on class racer, btw isn?t there a forum you can post on that better suits you? Try posting on I?m a bracket dad.com or professional tire pressure checker.com and move on. Your pal Tim! |

Re: Joe Sorenson
once again, you didn't reply here to offer you opinion to the OP as I did, nope you're only reason for replying is to engage me.
|
Re: Joe Sorenson
lol your go to response, you did the same thing in older texts about other topics, you post a bunch of bs then act like everyone is here just to fight with you, meanwhile you make clown comments about everything you have zero knowledge about then when someone questions you you give that response, no Ed Bigley my quest in life is not to battle with you on classracer, just to give my input when I feel I want to. Your know as the forum idiot so this is my last response to this topic because I don?t want to take away from the actual topic, I will say I spent a week at Numidia, was a title sponsor for the event and you said you would ?see me there?, but I never saw you or your cars running either class, so STFU and go work on your **** heard you had a rough season so I?m sure you could use the time to get things straightened out. Good luck next season!

Re: Joe Sorenson
Again, you lie, afraid to own your actions and words.

So STFU, don't concern yourself with my replies to the OP of a thread offering proven advice and opinion based on over 3 decades of 1st hand experience, thousands upon thousands of passes in multiple cars that are amongst the best working/performing on the property where ever they go and get working on your junk! Your input, rather your comments about my replies does in fact take away from the actual topic, it's the only reason you reply to numerous topics on this forum so it's you who are the clown and forum idiot. |

350/255 was dis-continued on Dec.31,1968. ZL-2 hood was offered starting Jan.1,1969. So, can anyone answer my question? Somebody has to be there who can look for "mouse ears" on the end of the head. |

Yes Joe can better an 84 in Pomona. However, since he is now the declared World Champion after finishing in first place, as the old saying goes,
you can't be oner. J.R. |

I don't know the Sorenons other than from Bobbys video. Seem like good people that enjoy Class racing! I don't know all the intrecities of running Stock, so don't kill me but I think congrats is in order IMO. |

Was hoping the battle would be settled in Pomona.

Re: Joe Sorenson
Hey Fred, I can think of 6-7 electrical reasons, and I can think of at least 4 strategic and fully legal reasons those headlights went on-off-on on the pass you witnessed on NHRA TV. (And right now I wish that I had used it first round Saturday myself instead of my foot/tach).
Not saying Joe used that switch at all (personally I would not be afraid to ask, though I would not expect and answer or have my feelings hurt if he just changed the subject or wallked away). I used a different tact to attempt to trim just 2 thou of R.T. at the tree this weekend, got caught with my pants down. But, here goes...a fully charged battery and while the alternator is spinning it is with a fully operable and correct charging system pretty much disengaged and freewheeling-as it is not electrically activated since the regulator has recognized the full charge status of the battery, turn on the headlights though and the instant voltage reduction or drawdown is enough to turn that alternator field on and will trim a -.002 light into a quite stellar .00x green, turn those lights back off and the alt is again freewheeling the balance of the pass. And every bit of the actions taken are fully legal within our ruleset. And smart as hell w/ a World Championship on the line where 1 point or 1 red-light by a few to a couple of thousandths could be completely devastating to your life. Like I just said, no idea if that was why, but I just wish I had tested out that theory...and you bet I will soon enough. Bank on it. A much simpler action than the one I recently failed at badly to do the same exact thing. His attempts seem to be working out quite nicely if (big IF), that was a purposely done act, and will be rewarded handsomely. Well done Joe no matter how it was accomplished. Screw the haters and sceptics. Keep em all wondering, guessing and curious...including me. That was a season long lifetime goal accomplished. Kudos and congrats to Joe & the men on his crew who pulled it all off and to Hidalgo and others who finished the season right behind him in the points chase. |
Re: Joe Sorenson
But I did like the "look over here at the shiny thing, not all the other more important stuff" theory posting. Lmao.

Re: Joe Sorenson
The headlamp thing.
Being originally from Connecticut Modified roundy round racing is huge. Their was a legendary racer at the Danbury Racearena named Don Lajoie father of Randy and grandfather of Corey, He was a great driver with the best equipment but one season they messed with everyone's heads by having a schrader valve on the right front frame rail they checked and "inflated" before every track session. It was nothing more than a prop but it got into the heads of the other race teams in the pits. Just food for thought. |
