Only if he pays the licensing fee.

Picturing a silver/blue/red AWB 2014 Challenger with a cigar chomping driver and the wheels a couple of feet in the air.

Back to the future!

Charlie, I sent this to Chrysler in 2008.

(START)

(Referencing the original VANISHING POINT MOVIE)

The commercial starts with overhead helicopter footage (maybe from the original movie?) of a white '70 Challenger streaking across the desert (with great engine audio).

Next (digitally?) a transformation takes place, like in Back to the Future.......you see all the flashes and lightening but don't actually see the car.

A flash shot of the highway - 2 tire tracks on fire into the distance. You hear (but do not see) the car screech to a halt sideways in the road.

The next shot is a car .....covered in dry ice.....popping, sizzling, crackling and smoking......this is shown for several seconds with no other action (for effect).

Then, finally, with a mighty crack, the driver's door opens and all of the ice falls to the ground revealing a white 2008 Challenger.

The present-day Barry Newman steps out, looks into the camera, and says: "You thought you couldn't go back, but you can"..............

(FINISH)

Thanks for posting those shots M68. That is the best original engine bay photo I have seen. Helped me answer what type of thermostat housing these cars came with, different from the WO cars.
That photo should be the first one on the LO/BO restoration page...

I loved that movie!

You should get a check for creative consultant fees AFTER thay made what would have been a GREAT and effective commercial.

It read good enough I was seeing it as I read it.

I offered them the idea at no fee for me but they wouldn't touch it due to they would
probably have had to pay royalties to both Vanishing Point and Back to the Future.

Probably true, but what a commercial that COULD have been.

By the way,I have it stuck in my head now. Saw a white Challenger on the road today and you can guess where that took my little brain..........

I agree.....especially since when I sent it to them the long awaited 2009 new-generation Challenger was just debuting.

I'm hoping it went where my little brain went,,, to a young lady riding a motorbike
around the desert,, in her birthday suit,, with a smile, and a proposition! Don't quite remember what Kowolski did,, but I think he passed on the deal. A great movie still.

sounds like an excellent idea! like always they'll have have poor excuses not to make good commercials and great reasons for making a crap one!
like politics i'll never understand why they make the decisions they do. you almost would think they don't want to sell the product.
