Re: Some "Dime Rockets" for the 4TH!
Hutt1,
HP rating on SVO is way high (probably for marketing reasons) and probably not workable. Turbo Coupe and Mustang are much better choices. |
Re: Some "Dime Rockets" for the 4TH!
It is my first post on the forum,so be easy on me :).I have been following the Dime Rocket thread sense the first post.My ? is would the 78 Camaro with a 250 be a good dime rocket. If I have done my math right it would be a V/SA car.

Billy I respect what you have to say large part of why I asked the ? . Only reason I asked about this combo was I had a complete 78 Camaro with a 250 .I had given some thought about the 267 combo and running it as a U/SA but have had trouble finding the motor to build this combo

Re: Some "Dime Rockets" for the 4TH!
Thanks Billy I had the 78 LT as a T/SA .I can find a ton of 305 cores around here from the late 70's

Re: Some "Dime Rockets" for the 4TH!
I was looking in the guide and found a 1978 pinto wagon with the 2.8 V6 2bbl. it is rated at 120hp, factory weight of 2645# and is on a 22.04 weight break (V-stock). Has anyone ever ran one of these? I think it was rated about 6 hp more than the 2300, but has .5 less compression, and smaller valves and cam. Does this engine have any potential? Don Jackson

Grab the old book "V6 Performance" from Pat Ganahl, there is some cool info in there. As for the car, I can find them relatively easily in Montana, they were my nemesis in my compact demolition derby days...guys around here hoard the wagons.
