I believe that is Jim Harrison driving but I am not sure of the owner.

I tried to explain my case to NHRA but it fell of deaf ears. Needless to say, the "rules" seem to change day by day and it was my fault for not changing them. Can't tell you how many guys were icing in the lanes, using dry ice in the lanes, dumping water in the lanes, and have incorrect pieces on the cars and get away with it. I simply got caught. Just want to say sorry to Kenny as he knew nothing about the internals of the engine.

I never understood why head studs are not allowed in stock. How do they provide a performance advantage? When I set the record in Rockingham in 1991 I had head studs in my motor at that time. The national event crew did the tear down. Soon thereafter it was declared against the rules and added to the engine section of the rules the following year. Head studs are a practical item for race motors and should be made legal again.

Congrats Randi-Lynn Shipp on your class win and passing tech! That is one fast Pontiac Firebird.

You made the weekend for many of us die-hard Indy fans who could not make it. Our last visit was 2009 and yes one of the highlights was the teardown barn. To pass in there truly means something for all Stock and Super Stock racers!.

I wish you all the best in trying to win Indy in Stock!

M-6067-3V46 head changing kit, $58.30 from Tousley Ford. Expense that would be nice to avoid, but not terrible. I've actually had some Ford powertrain development guys tell me to reuse them 4 times before discarding.

Mike, you should know that head studs make at least 20 hp on the dyno on a stocker ! They are more of a threat than acid ported heads!! LOL
