Nonsense. Sort of. We do know it was the Manhattan Speed Parts Dart at one time based on the atypical quarter panel damage and repair work still visible from inside the trunk. We just don't have the name(s) of the guy(s) that owned it!

The Beach Brothers {Dodge} of Salem, Virginia ran a 10.98 in SS/B with Bob Hodge behind the wheel.

Have to agree here. That bodywork is hard evidence.

Manhattan Speed Shop.

In truth, that 1968 Dart was 'not' sponsored by the Speed Shop. There
was lettering of the front fender 'Manhattan Speed Shop', but >

Al Ripolla of the Bronx stated that it was 'lettered' because they
received some parts at a discounted price in 1968.

There were a few cars in Manhattan, the Bronx and on the
other side of Hudson River in New Jersey that bought parts from Manhattan Speed, and lettered their cars for getting a deal on
parts.

That is correct. I have spoke with the past owner of Mannhattan Speed, Joe Dotto, on a couple occassions, & he told me there was no association. He does not remember any silver hemi dart from the area either.

I was back on the phone again this past weekend, following up on some possible leads from the east coast, NY area taxing some peoples memories. I tried the Manhattan Speed, Charlie Castaldo 3rd Dart, & silver Hemi Dart avenues. No luck on any.

currently looking for a Pete Pearson? I believe from the NY area originally. He is supposed to have a boat charter ?. Anyone here know dis guy? Could be Conneticut also?

Paul, who is Al Ripolla?

Charlie, you probably know your post of the Jack Thomas car 4 up that the orange dart in this last post are the same car. Owned by Race Hemi historian Dick Towers at the time this pic was taken alongside our dart. Geoff Stunkard photo. Dick always got a kick out of the fact our two cars are consecutive VIN/assembly #s. Miss that guy.

Did NOT occur to me they were one in the same.

I look smart by accident way more times than by design! :D
