Hey Doug. Glad to see you get a nice short of Darcey Clarke in his SS/EA Plymouth. A three day drive to get here from Western Canada. A little trivia. Did you know that car raced at about Indy 34 years ago by some guy they call Frito?

Please NHRA don’t yell at those who are still in in both!
Like you did this morning.

Thanks Brett. I'll be ready.

Indy is vacation pace compared to D1 Canadian opens, which I have run two cars in the same elimator for years with #'s as low as 42 cars total. 95 degree days can be rough. Will run a car and 25 minutes run the other....

Cars should be charged, filled with gas and tires aired up the night before.

Just do like I did this Am, you may have a crew and be closer than the cell phone tower I am pitted at. guessing 1.2 miles Or a golf cart.

Rise at 5, do the vacation level 90 push ups, 90 crunches, and 90 deep knee bends.(skip this if you don't work out of course) Pull ups later in the trailer, drink the coffee, read the sunday paper online, check the weather, walk the beagles half way round the circle track and back, feed them, hop in the superstocker @ 7 drive it up park it and jog back the mile or so to the pit, check every thing out and ride on up in the stocker,

After round 1 of stock, park the stocker in the rear of the lane, take your helmet, jacket and other assorted stuff and amble on over to the awaiting superstocker.

Yea I had to jog back in the rain later to grab the stocker, but its certainly doable, especially in 75 degree weather. No drama. Good luck in round dos.

Eric

I'm really glad the pros got their fifth qualifying session in this afternoon, and that time wasn't used to get 200 sportsmen run and on their way back home after being here a week already. Comp has been in the lanes for E1 twice now and sent back to their trailers.

Too much **** going on at this race now and it all takes so much damn time. Out of 6 racing days there's been maybe 6 hours of rain during the days, if that. NHRA needs to plan out a schedule that is realistic to get all 16 classes and 904 cars run if they're going to include that much stuff. That should mean 4 qualifying sessions for the pros, and be prepared to cut it down to 3 if needed. They do it to us, why not them? Oil downs happen, crashes happen, rain happens. With that many cars and days you're going to have some of it. Don't put the schedule together where it only works if everything goes 100% right.

I hate to say it but, I’m kinda glad us .90 guys and gals had 1st round Thursday. I mean it sucked big time losing a time shot because of the parking issues but, at least half of us could have got on the road home if we wanted. I also have to agree the pros should go down to 4 shots, especially since they are barely getting 16 cars at Indy...i know it won’t happen but, you now have the 10 pounds of s**t in a 5 pound bag analogy coming to light.

I agree they don't have time for the gasser and street car side shows there are sportsman been there a week that took time off work and probably can't afford to take any more time off not to bash the fast bracket TS and TD but adding them this year made Indy this year more hectic

I did not realize the pros got 5 qualifying runs.

Still seems amazing that half the Stock and Super Stock field will be competing on Labor Day at the US Nationals.

A few days ago it was posted that only the final rounds of Stock and SS would be competing on Monday

Hasn't happened yet, Al.
