It became the white one shown, stll had the same paint in 2000-01. Herb and Danny both had a chance to look at it at the Indy Trade show sitting in the parking lot on a ramp truck. There also are pics of the car with the Sox and Martin paint job with West Virgina Hemi on the Door If it would have been anyone elses car it would never have been repainted in 2001, the car was that nice!!

Are you sure these 2 pix are of the same car???? I'm looking at the hood colors & they're not the same.

Daryl,

The fenders and decal placement are the same on those cars.

Yes, the hood and front-grille paint scheme are different, but it is the
same car.

Sox & Martin went to the 1968 Springnationals at Englishtown with only
one BO29. The NHRA #784 car.

So if Sox & Martin did repaint the hood on the car from white to blue sometime during the '68 season as mentioned, then is this the same car that was at the '69 Detroit auto show...notice it does not have the engine call out on the right & left edges of the hood.

Notice that this S&M car has been updated with '69 header panel, hood and grille shells in this pic. Would this have been a legitimate Super Stock car or might it have specifically built as a match racer, Modified Production entry or very early Pro Stock car?

Some good points made here...I'm thinking Chrysler told them to build one for the car show circuit to promote the brand...but it could have easily been put into action after the car show stint was over...Anyway here's another one of Sox & Martin's B029's with different decal placement on the front fenders.

This S&M Pro Stock car appears to have '69 header panel, grilles, and hood too but the blue / white hood paint is reversed from the S&M Barracuda shown at the '69 Detroit Autorama and in the Plymouth promo photo with Ronnie and Buddy.

Perillo and Cerrone Barracuda was the one that was hit inside the garage, I believe it was originally the Harris Automotive car.

Don't think so, Bobby Carpinet never said anything to me about the car being damaged.

When I delivered the Cuda they had a 68 Plymouth wing car that was running in S/S, but no BO 29

Pretty sure this is Eddie Smith's car that he bought from S&M.

Here's what a couple of the West Virginia Hemi '68 Barracuda's ended up looking like, both repainted with similar paint schemes...notice the rear bumper guards on the car in the last pic.

HM
The orange car is an original LO car W/ auto. These pictures were taken in 04 & the owner at the time
was uncertain of it's history. I understand he sold it a couple years later.

Here's another Dart very few have seen or know about.
Original LO stick car called the Gold Seeker that was raced out of Ohio I believe. Great original car with most of it's hard to find parts still intact. A complete car pretty much, with all the parts either in the trunk or the interior.

Herb McCandless car restored after being found in an autowrecker just a few weeks before it was slated to be crushed. Randy Hopkins campaigned it for a few years in these colors before he repainted it back to it's "true" colors. It now wears Keystones also.
