Re: Hp For Christmas
We'll probably be waiting until Friday for any news from NHRA regarding horsepower or index changes. I think NHRA tends to follow the thinking of corporate America, like the way people are fired on Friday. The Friday announcements tend to cut down on those annoying, angry phone calls and e-mails.

Re: Hp For Christmas
My son Ryan drives ours SS/EA 68 Camaro and does a very good job. This year at Indy Nationals our car qualified #128 and we were very proud to make the field. The point that I want to make, I have many parts that are 29+ years old technology. I have ask NHRA for 5HP(not that I know we will get it) to make us more competitive without spending $15/20K to update these items just to go faster. Not every racing would agree with me about the Automatic HP Factoring System, but it sets the destiny of how much money the racer wants to spend. Stock and Super Stock is considered the sportsman category that was originally to be affordable to race. Changing Indexes by lowering as some would like just makes everything start over again. Other racers who feel that it is tough to be competitive with their combination email NHRA for HP. I know Stock and Super Stock takes a lot of time to control rule enforcement and with the cut backs NHRA have made on staff will make even more difficult. I just wish (me racing Super Stock since 1967) that the rules were not so flexible and products being accepted that Not what the category represents…
