Tim, "Colonoscopy"

Billy. Looking at what other auto racing groups tried could we not have a true spec motor class,? we really need to look somewhere to get an idea how to beat the Cost of drilled cranks, turbo spec sheets, Trick rocker arms.
Or is it the "racing someone" you miss?

Dick, I would love to see somebody try something with restrictor plates and collector outlet size restriction. Michael Beard and I played around years ago with dozens of engine combos and when we restricted the inlet and outlet they all made close to the same power no matter how big or how small or what was inside. I know that is an over simplification and I don't remember the sizes that we used but I was suprised. I think sombody in Div. 3 tried something like that years ago and it never caught on. Might be an interesting thing to try for a "heads up" deal.
I think in this financial climate anything that isn't somehow restricted will fail because of the $$$ that would need to be invested. It has to be something that will use existing cars.

i know i have thrown this out there alot, but brodix spec heads, they are so close it is perfect, 750 carb lbs per cube. 1/8 .09 per half lbs. .14 for quarter mile spot in splits. brodix spent alot of time on these and could be coaxed into policing it. i ran this program at our local track and the crowd was there every weekend. i closed it because the owner cant have a fast car and run the track too. but it was a sucess. nhra would not have that problem. powerglides were given 250 lbs. break, 3 speeds were given 150 break, clutch assisted even, cluthless added 150. slowest cars were within .25 of quickest cars.

Jack I agree! Me & my buddy Ezra Brooks are setting here typing to ya! ;) Billy I too don't like the way the "things" is stock are going....I had a blast last fall playing with dads old Camaro @ the local track...I have to buddies that are just getting started into drag racing...1 with a 69 Fairlane 500 with a 428CJ the other has a 78 Chevette Pro Street! lol they both run 8.50's 1/8 mile & they drive them on the street.....so I put a "bracket" 350 in my Z-28 to play with those guys this season....kind of take a brake & do something a lot of us have forgot....race to have FUN! That's the reason I started anyway :) BTW I'm still going to run the Cutlass @ indy div col div & fall classic

randy i said it before and i'm still with you on this spec head deal.it would cut the cost of getting started in superstock and comp also.ss/cs was what that started out as but all 3 manufactures didn't buy in.
