I'm not sure that its a case of some tech people letting certain things slide. I think it is more of nobody in tech ever looks. When was the last time you saw a techman get down on the ground and look under a car they are teching?

This illegal modification was seen because a picture was put on the forum. That picture was clearly evident to many readers that this car has illegal floors. Now it comes to light that there may be other SS/GT conversion cars out there that also have illegal floors.

Will the rule be enforced and floors replaced or will once again the powers that be cave and the rule get changed?

....how about Super Gas / Super Street!!

Super Stock is now comprised of Comp Cars with Stocker motors....
and Stock has evolved into some high dollar - "hybrid" bracket class, where almost anything goes as well!

Hey Zac,

This is a B&B Floor Pan. All B&B Cars have factory floor pans. Now show me your pic again. All cars are not built the same, some are built by the rules.

Thank you, Mr 1chassishop for your adherence to the rules!

It seems to me that B&B race cars also does the same thing as like on Sean Cour's GT/AA Cobalt. His car and many other, built the same way, pass tech on a regular basis and never get questioned on legality by anyone, including tech officials. Lets all face it, both stock and super stock cars are getting way out of hand. Super stock car's should be running anywhere close to 8.00's in the 1/4 ( Scott Gove SS/AM) or any stocker running 9.40's. The only reason the cars are so quick today is because of rule intrepretations. Guys have stretched the rules for years and they will continue to do so. NHRA don't have a problem with it, so why should anyone else.

Zac- Thanks for posting a pic of my car. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge you have pertaining to the building of B&B racecars. I have seen the floor pics of Mr. South's car, unfortunately you shouldn't have posted pics of his floor pan either, as the two differ greatly. My families B&B Cobalt HAS the original floor in the car, as you should know this, by being the expert you are!

Thanks again, Sean

Sean,

I do apologize, from the pic that I saw, it just looked to be the same. If the floor is the factory floor, then it looks really good and i stand corrected. I didn't mean to "throw you under the bus", I was just trying to make a point that there are many builders that have interpred rules differently. I am no expert by any means, I just think cars are getting out of hand.

The plot thickens. Anyone wanna take bets that there will be a floorboard search party at Joliet? LOL

Excellent work, yeah the cages , well p.i.t.a.

Very nice work and apparently whoever painted the clear coat dosent suffer from Orangepeelosis like I do (thank god Im one hell of a color sander)

I will say when I saw the progression of the side, I didnt like it, when it was done, very very nice indeed.

Excellent workmanship and like mack said attention to detail. I hope to have enough time to get my SS/GT car done in such style....It starts next week :) Going a little more classic with the look, Sublime and Panther Pink with a Pink and white, (or green and white (cant decide) Mod Top....you know, reall laid back and underkey....:D:eek:

I would love to know, maybe I missed, what combo the car will be running ?
