I have been bracket racing for 14 years, and I may have seen 3 racers in all that time throw a fit after losing a round . (like was depicted in the trailer)
Seriously, I think that dude in the movie needs some anger management training! ....LOL
It's just bracket racing !

I remember beating a local hot shot S/ST racer and I thought he was going to go air born, he loaded his car on the trailer so fast! He had his losing ticket and was off the premises in about 5 minutes!
And I beat a Stocker two events in a row and he wouldn't even look at me the first time, much less the second time.
That is the extreme, but some do take it pretty hard!

I have passed a few e-mails with the actor that plays Boomer. He is also the writer and one of the producers. His name is Randy Spence http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1267108/
His real father (Who I believe is really named Rossco) is the owner of that blue Nova and he (Randy) has raced it himself. I believe that his dad is a regular with that car in the Classic Gear Jammers. So I think that this movie is going to be pretty right on being that it is being made by real drag racers.
I think that this movie is going to be the Two Lane Blacktop of this Century. I think Randy and crew have a great handle on this deal.
I lived in Radford Va for two years in 92-94. I miss the heck out of those "Rednecks" Greatest people I ever had in my life. I am going to end up back there in a couple of years. Wish I never left.

I'm not much of a movie goer, in fact the last 3 movies I attended were Rocky, Saving Private Benjamine and I just took my 81 year young Dad to see True Grit. I'm bringing the whole family to watch this one. My Dad, my wife, our 5 kid's and their spouse's along with the 12 grandkids. I wonder how much the popcorn bill will be? lol

Well I'm willing to look past the dramatic overtones in favor of selling our sport to the masses. Remember, the ones in the stands don't know the difference between a 3.29 first gear from 3:29 on the clock. The only thing they care about is emotion and excitement.

Exactly what Pinks did for us! Despite how much it upset many racers who complained about the theatrics, Pinks provided drag racing with tons of exposure on Prime Time TV.

The "real" wheels-up launches should be a draw to car enthusiasts!
Overall, it should stir positive interest in legal drag racing.

I didn't hear that part. :o Oh well, he's forgiven. :D
I suppose there must be some amount of drama to sell movies.

I just hope the facts of bracket racing are not blurred and exagerated like NASCAR was in "Days of Blunder"....er.. I mean thunder.
One frame the car is clean...the next frame the car is filthy..then clean...then dirty...and so on.....LOL

The trailer I saw made me think all "Days of Thunder all over again". I'm from Oklahoma, and I don't know anybody with necks that red.

I really hate to say this but that's actually a pretty typical shot of farmingtpn dragway...I would have to say after being a part of plenty of bracket races at the farm that's a pretty dead on portayal of a typical scene during a bracket race and there is no too red in nc .....
