Why would you not be required to use the correct grill in a 72?

Also did anyone catch the marker light in quarter?

Well the car is 72 running as a 71. I run my 71 demon as a 72. No one ever said any thing about marker lights to me.
The duster came with to different grill in 72 I think.

hi, in 1971 the 340 duster came with the shark tooth grille standard in 340 cars. in 1972, the shark tooth and the standard grille were used in 340 cars. also, in 72 they had a twister with 318 and shark tooth grille.
years ago, a friend converted his 70 duster to a 71, he changed intake and carb and the grille.

The car appears to be a 70 or 71, The 72 has a different tail light panel so you can't claim a 72 as a 71 unless you cut out the whole panel. I have never seen a 72 340 car with a standard grill either. As for the Twister package cars they were available with the slant six also, I have one in the garage. There are photos of it in my profile.
The photo's also show the whole spare tire well cut out, Is that allowed or did he replace it with a correct floor?

Nice car. I wouldn't worry about the '71-'72 trim items unless NHRA tells you to change something. This 'aint the old days.
