V/SA 1/8th 9.24@71.56 Aug 2009 Portland Or.
My wife and I made the 5 hour haul down to Portland after work on friday. We managed to talk the guy's guarding the gate into letting us in around midnite and then slept in the racecar. I opted to skip the eliminator and did tear down right after the backup run, Then put it all back together and hauled butt back up north so we could run the bracket race at Mission on sunday. I didn't get much sleep that weekend but I finaly had a record to hang on the wall.
My wife was a real trooper for sleeping in the racecar that night although I'm pretty sure it wont ever happen again, The funniest part of the whole day was that she had never raced 1/8 mile before so she didn't know when to stop ( and yes I did take her for a track walk in the morning to figure it out), She ran the old duster dang near to the end of the track before she decided it was time to get on the brakes. The look of terror on the faces of the safety guy's was classic and she came roaring up to them at 120, Thankfully those wilwoods did their job.

1985 IHRA Q/PSA 1/8 mile 9.628 @ 71.71
I set it at the Ohio Valley Raceway Doorslammer event 10-12-1985

The car was a 1969 Chevy Kingswood Estate wagon 396-265 (2-bbl carb) that the Lampton Bros owned. Since they had too many racecars sitting around, they asked if wanted to take the wagon and drive it that summer. I told them sure and had a great time racing that year.
