Re: Indy 2013
I always have time for you Barry. Just run I/SA no new cars fit that class.
I will make that bet with you to Mr Jeff. |
Re: Indy 2013
I can tell you all one thing, if you out run Jeff Dona and Ricky Decker in class at Indy you will have automatic hp on Monday morning.

Re: Indy 2013
It would be great if someone could come up with a fair way that all the participats of a class could place a bet on their car to win class. Not necessarily NHRA's class. In other words, the slower cars get a timed advantage according to quaifying. (A spot) You would have to use the 1/8 mile times of course, because of the 1000' foot rule. You could use Joe's stats to get a real idea of how fast someone's car is by the years average and use that as a barometer. Sort of like golf, you get handicaps, everyone in the class would have to beat the fastest time with the handicap added to win "Racer's Class". Even if it's only like $20. a car.
Just an Idea! Casey Miles 248H "F" NHRA Stock. |

When you have a car under rated by 75hp or so, getting 4 hp on Monday is no big deal. |
Re: Indy 2013
I think it would be more like 10-12hp on Monday.

Re: Indy 2013
Yea your right Larry and those guys at engines inc don't ever test anything. They just slapped some bone stock engine together and ran -1.50. It's that easy
Ed you are forgetting that there are no where near the gains with the new stuff. My heads for example are killer to start we have slowed down two sets trying to improve them. All factory heads way better then they were 20 years ago |
Re: Indy 2013
Besides the heads, you would have to be one dumb sucker to look at the specs for, an example, the LT1 and the 360" DP, and say "Yeah, those would be the same hp."
Gotta wonder about the guy at NHRA that accepted that. Give me the same compression, valve sizes, port volumes, and throttle body and give me the ten more cubic inches. Oh, and either take back my four hp, or give them four so we would weigh the same. Make us both 275, or 279. I would happily run them for class or heads up every day. Get beat and I would know I needed to work harder, not know I just got screwed. At least if I stay home, the LT1 guys that have been badgering me to slow my car down more, and not run too fast in class at Indy will be happy. |
