I personally have never had any adware ads or anything like that pop up or redirect me otherwise in this forum. its not the class racer site. I would try uninstalling chrome first, then reinstalling it. ive read people saying internet explorer is not giving them this redirect. Symantec offers a free scan u can try. but the best way to get rid of this in my opinion would be to go into ur registry and find the locations and files its tied itself too. I can help do that if anyone needs assistance.

Just spent 2hours with norton getting my virus removed , screen we blank after clicking on false update while checking live from winternationals. My bad I guess

The software updater deal is what I'm getting as well and its still happening tonight. Even though I took my laptop in to get it looked at today. I guess I will take it back and let them have another shot at it tomorrow. Whoever comes up with this crap should be severely beaten with a baseball bat TWICE. Once for coming up with it. And if they survive, a second time so they remember to never do it again. They are seriously screwing with my ability to look at my favorite website.

I've switched over to Chrome in the last few days and haven't seen the redirects again...yet. In addition to the steps Dave mentioned, I've had good success in the past removing this garbage by going to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com
