"I like my guy" oh yeah, "I like my guy"....really?

Just name the thread "popularity contest" and be done of it.

If you want an excellent engine builder, there are lots out there (obviously, look how this thread is going), just ask advise on who builds what you're running, pick one, that's the best one for you. (unless money is no object and you're willing to ship an engine across the continent to have mr A or mr B on your fender)

Tony and the guys at BES Racing Engines are awesome :). They did the engines for both our LT1 and 6.1L Hemi, and now they are putting together the motor for our SS/AH car. Both of the stockers fly, so we are looking forward to seeing what the AH car will do with Bischoff power. BES has also given us lots of support and suggestions to improve performance even after the engines were in the cars. Their customer service is excellent.

I haven't seen Patterson's name yet, builds some bad- fast engines, I am currently having Bret Voges do the super stock engine, Parson/Meyers do the stocker engine happy with both, not conveniently located to Crosby Tx but that's my problem I choose to live down south.

How many west coast guys do east coast motors. When I walk into Tilburgs shop I see shipping boxes from all over the country not just east coast. Plenty of them getting freshened or built. Lot's of fast, reliable, legal stock and super stock motors at the track just look at the "Q" sheet. Now granted mostly SBC but some good BBC also. SO I would say my vote is Tilburg.

I think it definitely depends on the particular combination, how fast you want to go, and how much money you have.

This!

There are lots of factors involved such as who builds the cylinder heads and camshaft selection to make a specific combination go fast. There are many builders that specialize in particular makes; they can make one make go fast, however, they are not as successful getting the same results with other makes.

Now that he is not too busy with contract obligations, I am going to get him to freshen up and trick out my 273 U/SA. I know that he is familiar with Mopars, though they may be of higher cubic inch displacement, he is more than qualified. Plus, it would be a boost to Stock Eliminator in general. He is probably one of the best around and will take his time to get it right. Looking forward to next year when it's done. See ya all at the races.

U/SA sheer power baby.
