Probably not born when the supercharged Studebaker Larks were in the books then either.
They were there at one time. There was one in Div. 1 .Probably a killer car too.
Never mind 50's.We're talking 60's.
Where did they go? Who gets to decide that they don't want them in the books anymore?
Dwight? Do you know?

Strangely enough 55 up chev's are still in their copies.....Every other brand is gone.
I remember my first Jr Stock Elim loss was to a 52 Olds called Tokyo Rose. (in 1962)

Ron.

IF this is in regards to George Cureton's long history in Junior Stock/Stock, the name "TOKYO ROSE" did not come about until his 56 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. The car was to be painted an orange color, but it came out more of a rose color, hence the naming of the car, "TOKYO ROSE". This was the FIRST rendition of the 56 Sedan Delivery, and after it was wrecked in a towing accident, when it was finally repainted, they painted it blue with white stripes on the roof. He also kept the name for the rest of his race cars, regardless of color. I "sort of" know the guy who currently owns that car in Pennsylvania, and have given him parts to help in putting the car together. IF it's a different car you were referring to, my apologies. IMO, ANY car should be allowed to race in Stock, and not just "select" ones. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Ron,
Or any one... I will be glad to copy them and E-mail or snail mail them to you. I would rather not post them on line. Never can tell what rules of Ken's or NHRA's that may violate.
PM me your e-mail

On opening day 1962 @ Aquasco Speedway in MD I raced a 52 Olds
4dr with "Tokyo Rose" in foot high letters down the side (Asian type script). It was a towed in car.
A dark color maybe black. Not sure if it was George Cureton's car but, it
sure was fast!
