Re: NHRA to reduce Pro Stock fields at some events
Unfortunately and sadly NHRA is doing what it has to do to survive. There is a strange and unidentifiable new generation out there that is just not attracted to anything organized, scientific or that demands hard work. The competition and desire mentality does not exist unless it is something illegal or immoral. Decent hard working people are looked down upon, and anyone spending their own money on what they enjoy is resented by most of this new society. The racing industry has been put in a position to come up with super natural wild stuff to keep going. JMTCW

We had the One Eyed Monster...and Rock and Roll Radio. Oh the Drugs, Cigarettes, Beer and partying .. Nothing has changed. Just we forgot ! New Motorheads are Foreign cars owners !! Oh we still have the Merican Metal lovers. If you want Drag Racing to grow got to invite who is playing. Pro-street-mod type racing is becoming more popular. E85 is not just for economy ! As for Pro Stock.....things are changing here. ProMod and anything type racing that involves the public imagination is in vogue. Stock is having a small resurgence with the new FS Cars. D |

NHRA fact: If your car will start on its own and make a pass without being rebuilt after a run or cross the finish line upside down and on fire then it's not a race car.. Anybody that thinks the fans only want to see nitro powered vehicles (i.e. the power in Glendora) have not been watching youtube, paying attention, or understand people. NHRA is killing itself and has been for quite awhile. In their greed to line their pockets, and show who the bosses are they ate the seed. They've run off the sponsors, the sportsman racers i.e. the grass roots because it's run by idiots without a clue how to promote the greatest rolling car show on earth and turned what's left of it into something that few can afford to do. NHRA/IHRA Sportsman racing became professional/semi professional racing many years ago which took most of the fun out of it and when the fun went out the car counts went down and the fan counts went down. No racers, no fans, no sponsors.. duh! Pro Stock was a dead class they moment they became cookie cutter cars, they look alike, they sound alike, they run the same.. like watching grass grow, been that way for a long time. I'm truly surprised that it lasted as long as it did. Factory Stock should be called Professional Stock.. This is just my opinion but Super Modifieds are the real Pro Stocks. NHRA is dead unless it changes and so is drag racing. The fact they are throwing categories/types of racing at the fans at ever increasing rates while fan and car counts dwindle shows how much they don't know about what people want to see. NHRA is run by PhD's with degrees in stupidity, they don't teach common sense or how to read people in college.. A business man knows that if you want to increase profits you increase sales, a college grad business major thinks to increase profits you have to cut costs.. but they aren't smart enough to understand you can only cut so much, not much to cut when nothing is left and pretty soon there will be nothing left at the rate they're going. There hasn't been a businessman at NHRA in over 30 years. Fact: Once you've eaten the seed there will be no harvest next season..
