Re: What is your dream S/SS car?
Well, if I am fortunate to return to competition after a LONG time away, and it is NOT in a small block Mopar SS car, here is a combo which I have always found fascinating, especially given the power reduction:
62 Dart, 330, Polara etc. (Or a Plymouth version) 383/343 CA Police Pkg. for SS (Bad manifold for Stock) Bob Henry from Syracuse is one of the few who ran this combo years ago in HA in this area. This is of course an INLINE dual 4 barrel combo. Think sheetmetal manifold which is essentially a tunnel ram setup. Light car for its size. I would think this may be a very interesting combo. We saw the original Packin Poncho, back in the mid '70's, at the IHRA finals in Amarillo, TX. Art Peterson has one that could be converted. That's the only '69 GTO I can think of, that has run in the last few years. Not very competitive hp factors, for Stock or SS, unless you run in GT. |
