Larry here’s what happened when I changed the oil in the car I put 5 quarts in got a phone call after the phone call was done went back to working on the car and put another 5 quarts in chased my problem all weekend to find it on the last run. I think we got it but won’t know till the Dutch

Lots of aerated oil.

That happened at work one of the engine builders put 7 qts and then went to lunch. he then put another 7 qts in. i dyno'd the engine it was 100 HP down, drained the oil and power went back to where it was. It took awhile to figure it out for sure

Does anybody use a dipstick anymore? Or is that off limits on a racecar?

It sounds like the "Dipsticks" are the ones putting the oil in !

This happens more often than not. Buddy of mine added twice the oil in his SG Chevy II. He made a pass and the car was smoking big time. He said he got distracted while changing the oil. Life and our damn phones get in the way.

Tom won comp at Keystones last year. AND NO, LOL! Has his own engine shop he started with Bob Benza when Bob was racing Pro Stock. Last I heard Bob Cave was working with him and good hp out of that shop.
