Well it looks like the rain has finally stopped. I took a ride inside and it does not look to bad. The last rig I saw come in was number 332, they are now stacking in the pro side staging lanes as some of the stacking area is a little soft.
Water build up is in the normal spots, but I think if the rain stays away we should be okay to park tomorrow. |
Re: "Live From" US Nationals Indy 2019
Just got word that start time for parking has been moved from 8am to 10am. tomorrow.

Rained hard until about 7:30. Pretty wet in the grass. The skies don't look promising.

Re: "Live From" US Nationals Indy 2019
Good morning all, the rain has stopped and the forecast is for clearing although it is still cloudy. 10 am we are supposed to start moving but no sign of NHRA officials. I did talk to one of the local track workers and he said the pits are in okay shape, with just the usual spots that are soft.
Once I get settle I will get some photos of race cars, but it looks like it will be a long day. I wish NHRA would go back to parking on monday, I can't see how all the rigs that are here get parked today unless the parking crew works all night. |
Re: "Live From" US Nationals Indy 2019
What, you dont think it's a good idea to try to park over 600 sportsman cars in one day? I mean no one has to actually work on their car, ser up their camp, or God forbid get tires. I mean all you need to do is physically get in the place by midnight, they dont start time runs a till 8am...

I for one would be willing to donate $500 towards paying for the extra day. With hotel bills and paying for three parking crew, it can't be more than a $1000 for an extra day. Hell I will pay $1000, just so we don't have to deal with this every year.
Well I said my piece, back to racing. They starting moving at 10 sharp, and I did do have to say the parking crew is polite and accommodating, at least we have that. The first photo is the first rig going in, I wonder what day he got here. No one has got stuck so far, hoping that its a good sign. |
