Mike
To bad I didn't get more video of the 80s action. Have you bought the DVD of the early sportsnationals? I think I need to see that. I really miss the early modified stuff. For my entertainment, there is nothing better than the old stick shift, modified type cars. There is something about hearing the little revving motors, zing even higher, when they clutch'em on gear changes! If the audio is good on that DVD I will be in heaven. Are you guys going to make any NHRA events this year. Its been boring without you guys at the nationals! Mark, my old car is now owned by Dan Schlieker, from the Louisville Ky. area. Its kind of bad to see so few L cars anywhere lately. The stupid HP system hasn't helped out the 283 in K and L anyway. Where has Everett Hill's Mustang been lately? I didn't think SS racing was worth the pain anymore, for me anyway. At least I got to race in the days when it was still good. |

Don,
There is an excellent video on You Tube of Robin Brown and what looks to be your old car that was taken at Bowling Green. Bob Rice |

Smitty,
Thanks for the kind words. There are so many other cars that I remember seeing that I didn't take pictures of that make me want to kick myself. There is a picture of Hartley's car with Saye driving in my photo album. Also, send your pic to me at bobrice@embarqmail.com Bob Rice |

Re: History of MPR's personal 86 Mustang SS/F Car
Bob,
Sorry for my late reply, things crazy at home here. Tomorrow I will PM you. I do not have a web site for my pics, but I can send them to you and you are welcome to post them on your wonderful site. I have been through almost all of it. Mine are from several Indy points meets and I have some from the Sportsnationals in Bowling Green in the late 70's or early 80's. I can't quite remember the year, but I remember the races and the cars. Steve |
Re: History of MPR's personal 86 Mustang SS/F Car
Don,
I think I'll go to 4 or 5 races in 2008, about like I did in 07 (3 points meets and the Sports in Columbus). I'm going to look at the old videos I have and see if we can put them onto a DVD. I did find a few good photos of my 70 Mustang and a few of the blue car too. I have a good photo of Loyd Brays Mustang in SS/F and George Wrights Mustang in SS/E as well as my car in SS/F & SS/G. I think Super Stock was a bit more fun 20 years ago and it certainly cost a lot less to be competitive back then. |
Re: History of MPR's personal 86 Mustang SS/F Car
Hello Mike,
I heard you have a Roush Mustang at your shop, what's the story with it. Thanks and see you at the races, Wayne. |
Re: History of MPR's personal 86 Mustang SS/F Car
We are building the Roush Mustang for Super Stock for a customer. I may post a few construction photos on my website in a few weeks.
